no doubt. he's going to be 38/39 years old when this deal is over. hopefully 8 years includes some options/out clauses.

I love the "symbol" of this signing. The Cubs wanted a premier FA, and stopped at nothing to get him.

Are they crazy? Hopefully the last three years are team's option. Whatever goodwill with other GMs Hendry earned by signing ARam at below market will be out the window with this deal. Hendry is probably thinking that Soriano wins the WS for us or he's somebody else's salary problem for the last 6 years.

That would make this alot more reasonable. Not saying it's a good idea though . . .
