If the Indians continue to flounder, it's quite likely he'd be available. What would the Cubs have that would interest Cleveland? It would almost certainly have to include Hill and Pie. Is that worth it? What else would it take?

Personally, I think the Indians will just keep him and enjoy the draft picks. But we'll see.

If we could sign him to an extention, I think he'd be worth Hill and Pie. Can you imagine Z and Sabathia 1-2? Our weakest link right now is the rotation, and he'd give us another legit starter should we make the playoffs.

Buster Olney also mentioned this on ESPN the other day. He said he hasn't heard any rumors, just pure speculatin on his part. The guys on ESPN1000 were discussing CC as well. He would be an awesome get, if he could stay healthy.

I'd attempt to keep Hill out of any deal, but if he's a deal-breaker, I'd include him and cross my fingers that the new ownership decides to make a splash and sign him in the offseason.

I don't see the Indians being sellers.

For all of their problems so far, the AL Central is so bad this year that they could get back into it with a minor winning streak. The White Sox have won, but their hitters are showing signs of old age and Guillen's rants will add to their downfall. The Twins always seem to be competitve, but they're a flawed team. Who knows what happened to the Tigers.

I still think the Indians take this division.

I'd think it'll take more then Hill and Pie. A lot more.

Yup. They'd want at least one more high-level player as well. And that's if they view Pie and Hill as reasonably valuable, which they may not.

The condition is called, "Overhype-itis." A condition brought on by the team believing their preseason clippings. Other teams to suffer from this condition include the 07-08 Chicago Bulls, the 07 Chicago Bears, just to name a couple.

I think it depends on a few things. If they stay within 5 games of the division leader, they most likely aren't going to be dealing him unless somebody blows them away. If they fade significantly though, they may be looking to get whatever they can. Atthat point, there's no telling what the best offer would be. How many teams will want a rental? Sure others could beat the Cubs offer, but that doesn't mean those teams will actually make those offers.

That's a fair point. The AL Central is up in the air right now, but I disagree with the people above who think Cleveland will win the division. Their offense is putrid.

it's still the Tigers division to lose. i think they do it and by more than just a couple games.

Here's a game. It's called "count the good pitchers on the Tigers roster." Get past one and I'll give you a toy.

Justin Verlander(yeah, I and my fantasy team know his stats).

Jeremy Bonderman isn't terrible.

Considering teams could just wait a year and sign him without giving up prospects, I'm not sure I agree with that.

Yep. A rental of Santana (albeit attached to a long-term deal) commanded less than that, IMO

What would the Indians want with Pie? They already have one of the best young CFers in the game

They can easily move him to a corner and let Pie play CF. It's not like they're going ga-ga over David Dellucci, you know?
