The Red Sox would look to deal Manny.

Move Soriano to RF, Fukudome to CF, and Manny Being Manny in RF.

Wow!

Manny and Soriano in RF would be sexcellent and hilarious.

I dare anyone to try finding something funnier

So much tumbling and romping and piggyback rides. We'd all be winners watching that.

The annual "Red Sox explore trading Manny" news story.

Does anyone remember a few years back when Steve Stone suggested an Aramis for Manny trade?

A few years ago Manny was put on unconditional waivers(or whatever that is called) after the season was over. Noboby took advantage of that opportunity because at the time his salary was an considered an albatross. That was the time to get him and few years later his contract actually became 'fair market value'.

At least this will give the talking heads on ESPN something to talk about.

I doubt there's anything really to this, but I'd really like Manny in LF and Soriano in RF. He's the lift our offense needs.

I'd be willing to take Manny's contract off their hands, if they would take Marquis/Howry off the Cubs hands...

Even at this stage of his career and with that contract, I think Manny is out of our price range.

I know that, I was just saying that if Boston wants Manny's contract off the books, they would have to take back atleast one slightly less crappy contract.

No, but I do remember when he suggested trading Aramis for Cesar Izturis.

And Manny wants out of Boston.

Link.

"If the Red Sox are a better team without Manny Ramirez, they should trade me; I will not object," he said.

"I don't have any preferences. I could choose a team that offers me the best conditions or one in the chase for the postseason. I don't care where I play, I can even play in Iraq if need be. My job is to play baseball," added Ramirez.

"If they can get a trade, I'd approve it. If they can't trade me, then they will simply have to inform me by the end of the season that they won't use the options and we'll go separate ways," said Ramirez, who must approve any trade because of his 10-5 condition (10 years in the major leagues, the last five with the same team).

"I don't want to be a problem and a distraction to the Red Sox in such a critical moment of the season. I want to help the team, even if that means I have to go," Ramirez said.

and ESPN is reporting Boston is willing to eat the money if they get the prospects they want but nobody seems all that interested. I tend to agree with Gammons that Manny probably won't be going anywhere until the season's over

Iraq?

Seriously, he just needs to close his mouth at times.

Iraq could use some stability in the field but they aren't really in a good position to win right now

According to Theo Epstein, If Manny would waive his NTC the Sox would listen to offers.

Or so Tim McCarver said on the FOX broadcast today.

Tim McCarver also said that Tim Wakefield went to a fastball when behind in the count right after the pitch was clocked at 68 MPH.
