If Dusty likes you, you're IN. He must really like Hill. Seems like Marshall is the only good thing Iowa has put out lately... and Cedeno. Maybe we need to shake things up in Des Moines, too.

Never, never, never, never, NEVER, not once, thought that he would do a damn thing after seeing him this year. Even with his minor league numbers, he just felt like a disaster waiting to happen. That Hendry didn't pounce on the opportunity to trade him during last year, in the offseason, or while he was in the minors this year (especially when Marshall broke in out of nowhere), shows how lacking this organization is when it comes to making bold managerial moves. Hill's future seems to be molding to be a relief guy who comes in a gets you 1 or 2 outs and that's it. Or being sold with that kind of suggestion. GET THEE GONE, RICH HILL.

The announcers (DJ I think) were saying that since Rich Hill was doing so good in Iowa, he should be able to come up to the Bigs and do the same. OK, SHOULD is the operative word there. It's not happening.

Yep, didnt he only make it to single A, there might actually come a point when too much teaching ruins a great talent

What was concluded about the Hill/Dunn talk?

If Hendry did feel that way, I'd imagine it says more about his thoughts about Dunn and the offense than about Hill.

one way or the other, Hendry is seriously wrong. look at the pitching the reds pay for, Hill is right in step with Arroyo, Milton.

you could be right, and the "untouchable" part of this thread came from my vague memory of people saying that...

buuuut...if he had the oppertunity...

and he probably didn't.

hendry's done enough stupid stuff to criticize him for that people don't need to make up more stupid stuff.

he's average at best, and having a very good start to the year, but he isnt a Carp or Zambrano

Regardless of what Hendry could/couldn't have done with Hill prior to this point, he should trade him ASAP. I thought this after seeing hIll last year, and not much has changed. If Hendry can get some value for Hill, he should do it, because I don't think Hill's value is going to be getting any higher.

this was never a potential trade. it was bruce saying that hendry valued hill so highly that he probably wouldn't have traded him straight up for dunn last year.

It's very telling, too. Because Hill was Hendry's "prized prospect" and he's absolute junk.

....and Marshall was known only to those who follow our minor league system closely, yet he is far and away the better hurler.
