First of all I would like to notify you all, this game will take place tomorrow at 2:00 pm CT... but it will not be televised until Saturday, March 11 at 2:00 a.m. in the morning on ESPN (regular) and ESPN Deportes. Those of you who have MLB.TV and GameDay Audio can see and listen to it live...

The South Africa Vs. Mexico game just ended so the scheduled starter for South Africa hasnt been announced.

With no disrespect to South Africa, everyone is treating games against them like a "laugher, a tuneup"... Now if that is so, why start Dontrelle Willis against Canada... and Roger Clemens against South Africa? Why not the other way around?

United States preview[/url]"]SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. -- It has come down to this: The last start of Roger Clemens' illustrious career could be a make-or-break game for Team USA against South Africa at Scottsdale Stadium at 3 p.m. ET on Friday.

If the Americans win, the odds are that they will move on to the next round of the World Baseball Classic against Japan and Korea in Anaheim's Angel Stadium beginning Sunday. If they don't, Clemens could call it a day after 22 seasons, 341 wins and 4,502 strikeouts.

The tiebreaking procedure reads as follows:

Assuming the U.S. beats South Africa on Friday afternoon, it will advance to the second round of the Classic if Canada defeats Mexico. However, if Mexico defeats Canada, it gets more complicated. In order for Team USA to advance with a Mexico victory, the Mexican team must score three or more runs.

So if Mexico's up 8-0 in the top of the 6th inning, then USA just needs a victory against South Africa to advance. Hopefully Clemens pitches better than Dontrelle did. Go USA!

Hopefully the US can get their bats going consistently. Anyone know if Barrett is starting today?

Yep, he should be catching the Rocket I believe. I thought that was their plan, a different catcher for each pitcher.

Buc said this morning that he would be starting and catching Clemens.

Other guy needs to shutup and let Stoney talk.

I guess it's my internet connection as far as the feed goes. I used to be able to fullscreen it though, and now it's all choppy if I do.
