Who would you root for if the World Series was between the Cards & the WhiteSox?

Tough question for some, I know. Both teams hold one of the best records, as well as being rivals of the Cubs..

I think I'd choose the White Sox. Gosh knows Chicago needs to learn what its like to win.

Yuck yuck yuck. This is an age-old question for cubs fans. And it sucks, because it looks like, it has a chance of coming true this year.

I dont think i could make it through that world series.

Now that I live in MO, I'd have to go with the White Sox, although the Cards winning with the Sox throwing the series again wouldn't be too bad. :P

My answer remains the same: St. Louis and the majority of Cubs fans that reside in Chicago know why. The White Sox simply cannot be allowed to win a World Series before the Cubs. It can't happen or this great city will become uninhabitable.

I changed my answer on the poll about 9-10 times before I ran and crouched in a corner where I was found several hours later muttering to myself

Now I am back and still confused as ever. Common sense would say that I would chose the Cardinals, because living in Chicago is already pretty much unbearable dealing with Sox fans. Honestly, I don't hate the Sox that much, but their fans piss me off greatly to make me hate the Sox as a team now. I think most fans that dislike the Sox do so because their fans antagonized them into hating the southsiders.

So the answer is easy right? No not at all. While I don't hear from them as much, I hate the fact that our arch rivals are doing so good. I loathe seeing Pujols being paraded everywhere around baseball as its best player. I hate driving anywhere downstate and dealing with seeing Red hats with STL on them. It would be painful as hell living in a city with the Sox as champs, but I just cannot for the life of me find a way to cheer on the Cards.

As a lifelong Cubs fan, there is no possible way I could find myself rooting for the Cardinals in a world series. I wouldn't like it, but I'd have to root for the White Sox. I don't hate the Sox (just their jacka-- fans). I absolutely loathe the Cardinals. I mean loathe. This is a hate that will be with me long after I die.

I would root for the Cardinals for many reasons:

1.) Cubs can then say they were beaten by the best

2.) I hate the Cardinals more than the Sox soley b/c they're a division rival. I hate the White Sox b/c they wine too much and are focused more on the Cubs than themselves and the Twins

3.) I want the Sox to suffer.

4.) As much as I hate the Cards, I have a lot of respect for Albert Pujols, Tony LaRussa, and their players. I would have Pujols' bat on my team any day.

5.) Seeing former Cubs win rings is always nice. I like Grudz.

6.) I would only root for the Cards in the World Series if they played the White Sox.

7.) I would root for the Sox if they played the Cards during the Regular season, for divisional purposes.

Harsh words. I hate the Sox b/c of their fans. I went to the Cell this morning to get tickets to the Sox game vs. the Twins on August 15. I'll be there rooting for the Twins. A couple people asked me what game I was going to, and I said I'm going on August 15 to root for the Twins. I got bleacher seats, front row!

I was going to say blimp crash but that wouldn't be right -unless the pilots and crew were Cards' fans.*

*There is no such thing as a White Sox fan, there are merely people that live in the Chicago area that hate the Cubs.
