Kerry Wood will pitch fot the Chiefs in Ft. Wayne, Indiana on Sunday and if all goes well, again on Tuesday in Peoria against Kane County.

How do they usually manage a rehab like Wood's?

Since the plan is to have him work out of the bullpen, just slot him in for the 8th/9th of the two games?

Or have him pitch the first inning of one or both of the Sunday/Tuesday games?

Just curious.

Serena-

Oneri made it sound like he wont start. We will hopefully find out for sure Saturday. I have seen it both ways. Steve Kline threw the first two innings when he was here. And we had a couple AAA guys who came down on rehab and just got put in the pen and told what day they would throw and then either went 6, 7 or 8 in a close game or held for the 9th in a blowout.

Thanks! I figured they'd want him to pitch as a reliever, since he'll have to get accustomed to that role. Wish I could make one of these celebrity Chiefs games.

Wow, now I'm wondering if Kerry will start sitting out on the Wrigley bullpen bench. :P

Of freaking course it would be a 2:00 start. I have to play golf on Sunday after a couple of partners asked me to join them for a tee time at 1:00.

On the first par 5 you get to, swing as hard as you can and pretend to twist you knee or ankle and not be able to continue playing. That way, technically you did show up and play golf with your bosses but an injury forced you to leave early. Have them help you back to your car and assure them that you'll be able to make it home ok. After that, just head over to the Chiefs' game. You might also want to get a set of cheap crutches before heading to the game just to sell the act even more. After that show up to the office with a knee brace on and limp around for a few days...what could go wrong?
