What everybody seems to see in Rich Hill. I've been proposing that the trade his sorry rear end to someone since spring training. This spring Hendry basically called him untouchable. Other teams seemed (past tense) to want him. He throws a big curve that he never that is never in the strike zone, a mediocre fastball that everyone sits on, and he's 27 years old. He averages 1 1/2 strikeouts per inning in the minors where batters can't hit a curveball, don't know the strike zone, and apparently can't hit his mediocre fastball. Package him in a deal to a team with a real pitching coach and maybe he will be a star, but I have yet to see anything from him.

Well, if it follows typical Cub history, we'll finally trade him once his value is at an all time low as a prospect, get nothing for him in return.

Once again, I have 0% faith in our organizations ability to evaluate young talent.

Because he's a AAAA player from our farm system, so people overhype him up like crazy.

And then he'll actually become halfway decent on his new team.

He was one of the most sought after players in the offseason according to national baseball reporters.

But Hendry never sells high.

He wouldn't trade Hill for Dunn, you know.

Yeah, he should've traded him for Dunn when his value was high. Now with an ERA of 9.31, and a 0-4 record, you judge his value.

Hey, you give him a pitching coach with a clue and a team that scores enough (and by that I mean 3 or 4 runs) to take some of the pressure off of him and you never know what could happen.

Rich Hill will be a major league pitcher, once he gets more self-confidence. The question is whether he'll be a #3-4 starter or a swing man.

No control in his major league starts.

Starting last year he started finally throwing some more strikes in his minor league starts, but it doesn't translate to the majors.

At 26, there's only so much time for him to work it out.

Hendry & Dusty got ripped apart for not giving the kids a chance.

Now, it's pretty obvious why they were so reluctant to go w/ this kid.

yes, they could see this coming from the stellar minor league numbers, right?

whatever, dude. you're just looking for some way to bash people that think hendry and dusty are doing a terrible job. this is stretching.

hill sucked last year. he's 26 and hasn't done anything yet. a lot of older minor leaguers have put up good numbers and not amounted to anything. heck, they brought up someone who has barely pitched AAA, guzman, before hill.

the incessant ripping of hendry and baker's reluctance was off-base & way overboard.

not really troll, the point was that hendry refused to trade him but wouldn't give him a chance - pretty simple concept really. Of course, you presumably think all major leaguers come to the majors and dominate right away.

Pierre's career games played: 886

Hill's career games played: 13

Excellent comparison.

if people want to troll about pierre/speed, fine. i just find it funny when hill gets ripped a few times and it gets called out as trolling right away.

hopefully, the hill bandwagon can handle all the vultures circling. :D

as the incomparable burt reynolds says, "You don't get it."

you're assuming that there's something to get. i don't care what you say, so i'm not missing out on anything.

it's considered trolling b/c it's obvious that you're just doing it to get under people's (specifically mine) skin.
