The Chicago Cubs today announced that former Cubs shortstop Ivan DeJesus has been named the Major League club's special assistant to Manager Lou Piniella.

What kind of special assistant is this? Isn't there a limit on coaches that can be in uniform during the games? I thought 1 bench coach, 2 base coaches, 1 hitting coach, 1 pitching coach and 1 bullpen coach was all they were allowed.

That's my guess. DeJesus is taking the role that Jackson held on Baker's staff.
