it seemed pretty obvious to me that he was injured..the drop in velocity and lack of control on sunday were not typical of him

Don't get me wrong, I'd like any advantage over the Cardinals... but at the same time I'd like to legitimately take the division, without cards fans being allowed to say "well if carp weren't hurt..."

Well, we've been saying this like "If Wood wasn't hurt, or if Derrek Lee didn't get injured". . Yet the cardinals fans still pounce on us "scrubbies" and poke fun of our oginazation.

 

So I say. "REVENGE TIME BABY" NO SYMPATHY, TAKE NO PRISONERS!! YA-HOOO!!

By rejoicing, we're going the jinx the hell out of this injury and he's going to come back in a week and finish the season with a .092 ERA. Cubs luck.

What? "Major injury?" I know a tweaked elbow does not bode well (not by any stretch of the imagination), but let's not jump to such drastic conclusions here.

 

I'm certainly not happy about the news but we really have no idea how long this is going to keep him out for.

I agree. I won't ever wish injury on anyone, but I'm also not going to be upset when an impact player on an NL Central team goes down with an injury.
