Re: 2011 NBA Playoffs Thread

That was a rather ridiculous travel by LeBron even by NBA standards.

Re: General Politics Thread

You keep coming back to the idea that this is to diffuse the birthers. They are a useful group of people to Obama. It's about creating a line between their presence in the Republican party and the undecided voters. Taking a few minutes to address an issue in which the majority of Americans are uncon...

Re: General Politics Thread

They were already unappealing to people on the fence. The birthers attracted almost nobody who would vote for Obama even if their lives depended on it. It's catering to crazies, period, and if anything can work as a negative because it shows that they'll capitulate to crazy demands. All this does i...

Obama is releasing the long-form birth certificate in the next hour, along with a press conference. Kinda pointless, seeing as how it'll just be called a fake in some circles. yeah, i hate to seem them play along with this. I agree to an extent, but at the same time, if this was planned out, they d...

Nice going, Janoris Jenkins. Apparently the new regime at Florida actually has a limit on the number of times a player can be arrested. He has been booted.

There's a one hour catch-up show before the season 6 premiere of Dr. Who. Should I pick up the series or would I be depriving myself of too much if I didn't start with season 1? You should be pretty much fine just watching Season 5. Cool. BBC America is showing some of the post-season 4 specials on...

Harvey Updyke, the man who poisoned the trees at Toomer's Corner, was attacked after a hearing today at a gas station and was sent to the ER.

Nothing like losing perspective about something less important by attacking a man who did something after losing perspective on something even less important.

Spurrier addressed oversigning today by saying it's a bit embarrassing for them, but he likes the current rules due to poor academics in the state.

At least he's honest about the kind of kids he recruits, I guess.

Looks like Notre Dame dropped their demand for Northwestern to host a game at Soldier Field if a home and home was ever scheduled. Northwestern plays at Notre Dame in 2014 and Notre Dame comes to Evanston, hopefully to a renovated Ryan Field, in 2018. This takes the place of a 2014/2015 home and hom...

I just stumbled upon a "contemporary" website that is part of a web ring. I honestly can't remember the last time I saw a web ring. I think I may have been a part of some around '97 or so.

An Auburn site is leveling some pretty detailed accusations against Alabama's recruitment of Brent Calloway By way of Mr. SEC.com, Jeffrey Lee of Rivals.com‘s Auburn site appeared on an Alabama radio station this morning and, in essence, accused Alabama of paying for Calloway’s talents. It's more than just ticket prices, though. It's anticipation of how fast tickets will sell and the secondary market. This is the first year that people realized that only the most desired games are going to sell out. Before, people would buy up whatever tickets they could since they knew others were...

West Ham are up 2-0 at the half on ManU, trying to avoid relegation. I'd imagine this will be one of the most painful halves that West Ham fans have endured in a while.
