Re: BP Wrigleyville
Kind of seems BP is a sinking ship at this point. Glad to see Sharma will be traveling and giving us more Cubs coverage. He's my favorite Cubs writer by far. What's he doing? That's all he's teased so far. So that would seem to imply he's replacing either Gonzales, Wittenmyer, Miles (??), Mooney, M...

Yeah, I had just a few vague comments about it yesterday on my timeline. I was curious who it was too and would have put money on it being Telander. I just laughed when I saw it was that idiot.

Re: The Pitchers we can trade for....
It is Phil Rogers, but I am mildly curious that he plopped Billy McKinney into every deal. In some respects, it almost feels like he's suggesting that McKinney is someone they are targeting. Is that the case? I haven't really followed, but I don't recall anything specific about the Rays specificall...

Re: 2015-16 International Free Agency Thread
Ruiz is definitely the safer bet. I've got no clue where to peg the money on ANY of these guys honestly. I'll give it a shot though, if for no other reason than to see how wrong I am. Here's my half ass over/under on what these guys get..... INF/OF Randy Arozarena- 12 mill INF/OF Jonatan Machado-5.5...

Re: 2015-16 International Free Agency Thread
He was an OF, just started pitching in 2014. I think theres a good chance he'd have more hype if there had been more looks at him. I'm starting to wonder if he winds up getting the most money of any of the pitchers.

Re: Dodgers agree to deal w/ Kente Maeda
so this just has to be a situation where he was only interested in going to the dodgers and the dodgers knew it, right? Couple of things......1) There WERE rumors he preferred the west coast. So they may have benefitted from that. But 2) and I think this was more important.....Was when he was poste...

Re: The Pitchers we can trade for....
I don't like 2 solely because Cobb is coming off TJS, we don't know when he'll pitch(he did have it in May last year though, I think) and he's only got 1 year after this one under control. If healthy, I DO like him more than Odorizzi though. I love Archer, but do like Fernandez, Gray, Carrasco more....

Re: The Pitchers we can trade for....
Phil Rogers came up with 5 trades between the Cubs and Rays..... 1) McGee for McKinney(I'm in) 2) Cobb and McGee for Coghlan, Contreras, Vogelbach, and McKinney([expletive] no) 3) Odorizzi and McGee for Baez, McKinney, and Vogelbach(he's valuing Cobb more than Odorizzi?) 4) Archer and McGee for Sole...

Re: Dodgers agree to deal w/ Kente Maeda
Jeff Passan @JeffPassan 2m2 minutes ago
Once Maeda reaches 90 IP, he gets $250K for every 10 IP up to 200 ($3M total). He also gets $1M for 15th, 20th, 25th, 30th and 32nd starts.
So 25 starts and 150 innings per year would get him to 7.750 a year. That's such a nice deal for the Dodgers....

Re: The Pitchers we can trade for....
I like Moore enough as a bounce back guy, but only if you can get him without Javy or Soler. I even like Cobb as a one and a half year guy, in the same scenario. But Odorizzi likely DOES cost us one of those 2 and he's not much of an upgrade over our 4/5 now. I think its fairly apparent we can event...

Re: 2015-16 International Free Agency Thread
You're not even supposed to negotiate with guys until they've been cleared. It's a no-no, by the rules anyway. They're just retracting(probably a bit pissed the number came out literally on the same day he gained eligibility) and will still sign him, maybe not for the exact same 6 mill figure. The s...

Re: Yasiel Sierra close to deal with Dodgers
At this point it's almost becoming negligent for SPs to take LA's money since they'll never get to pitch at the MLB level to earn another contract. Eh, my guess is Sierra is in the pen or in the minors this year. Outside of Kershaw, the rest of their rotation all have injury concerns. They'll likel...

This is it. The system will change before there's another opportunity. Maybe a draft, but whatever it is, it won't allow a team to do what they're doing.
