I think you can easily get 10 games out of just reducing the amount of boneheaded plays that cost games to a reasonable level, moving Hawkins to setup, and not hitting Patterson/Nefi 1-2. Heck, assuming Hawkins doesn't have his slump and he takes the setup spot over the misfit crew of setup men we h...

We need coaches who can be tough on the players and minimize mistakes and teach/practice/drill fundamentally sound baseball. There's no excuse for a guy making hundreds of thousands of dollars a year (at the very least) not being able to lay down a good bunt 95% of the time, for example, or sliding ...

I won't even mention that we got rid of K-Gonz for Nomar and Murton and that Nefi Perez, as much as people bash him, is about 10x the hitter K-Gonz is.

Big Choi knocks in the 1st RBI in a 2-run (and hopefully ongoing inning) for the Dodgers against those evil Fish from Florida.

Now 4-3.

It can't be proven (since MLB doesn't test for it), and I bet a lot of other players are on it, but I'm sure Clemens is on HGH.

It's not natural for someone to pitch this well at Clemens' age.

I don't blame him since they don't test for it.

If everything finishes as it is now does that make the Cubs 5 games out? If things fall right tommorow they could be within 4? Clemens hasn't got much out of his offense lately........so sad. 5 losses out, we were 6 losses out at the beginning of the day from Astros/Nationals/Phils. Still will be 5...

After stumbling out of the blocks a bit in April (10-14) the Phillies have been pretty steady May 15-13 Jun 15-12 Jul 15-12 Aug 9-5 They may be the team that ekes out the WC. After August 28th, the Phils' schedule is absolutely brutal. If they tough it out, they'll deserve it. @Mets, @Nationals, As...

All the NL East teams have brutal schedules, playing each other, the Braves (who we really need to steamroll everyone in their division), and STL/Houston/Us/BrewCrew pretty much exclusively the rest of the way once September starts. Hopefully we can be within a couple games of the Astros by the time...

Re: Nomar in 2006? No Way!

Have you been watching him play the last couple weeks? He is much lighter(hm-m-m-m) than he was in April . His fielding skills have diminished and is a shell of his former self. Now is the time to let the farm system kick in and let Ronnie Cedeno start. Not really. He looks the same as he did befor...

Cubs are 1-0 over the last two years on days Phil Mickelson wins a major

146-140 when he doesn't

Cubs went on 10-3 streak starting the day Mickelson won the Masters in 2004.

Red Sox also won the day Phil won the Masters, sparking a 12-3 run.

The hope is, with Nomar, Lawton, Patterson, Williamson, and Wood, that this isn't the same team we've seen all year.

Well, there's a glimmer of hope after this series.

Gotta take 2 out of 3 in Houston though at least... a sweep would be nice.

Do that and we're back in the hunt.
