Favorite Individual Sports Play

I put this in Cubs Discussions because I imagine a lot of the answers will be from the Cubs.

Before this postseason my single favorite sports play was Wood's HR in Game 7 of the NLCS.

I think that has been surpassed by the Baez HR off Lackey and Rondon striking out Piscotty.

Re: Non-Cubs Playoff Games Thread

What's the appeal of attending a parade? It might just be that my short ass can't see [expletive] over people, but I don't really get it. Do you at least get to drink and act like an idiot? Is anything even going on other than the couple minutes when it passes by you? The atmosphere was incredible....

Re: Non-Cubs Playoff Games Thread

Some of you know that I have been a Royals season ticket holder in the past and follow them very closely. I even call myself a fan. We went to the parade yesterday and it was the craziest event I have ever been to. Since there is no legitimate public transportation in KC the 400,000-800,000 people t...

EDIT: Just saw Yost used Davis for 2 innings and 27 pitches yesterday, which is pretty baffling also.

How was using Davis for 2 innings yesterday baffling?

Re: Sherman - Cubs (and others obv) expected to be in on Alex Gordon

I'd be ok with it as long as it wasn't more than 4 years. One of the best defensive OFs in the game and also a good hitter. Not sure how he will age though. Already strikes out around 22% of his ABs for his career, will that get worse as his bat slows? His strikeout rate this year (25.9%) was the h...

Re: fatalism thread

4-15 their last 19 games in the NLCS. Cubs have had at least a 3-game losing streak every single time they've made the playoffs in the divisional era. 84, 89, 98, 07, 08, 15. I don't believe past seasons have anything to do with the present, but what the hell? what the hell nothing. there's literal...

Then you are a dead robot. This team reminds me more of the 1984 Bears or the 2008-2009 Blackhawks. Full of talent, everyone in the world knew it, and the following season they were all world. I'm very excited for 2016. I said series not season. And I am already turning the corner towards being exc...

I was at this game. One of my first vivid memories of MLB.

Cubs won 1-0 on a Scott Servais HR into the LF bullpen just to my right.

Also, I tried everything to get myself up for the game. Don't know how you can control your feelings towards something. If anybody knows how to do that let me know. I didn't make the choice to be miserable.

Never said they didn't try. Said they sucked in the most important games of their lives to this point. And said that pissed me off because I care too much and envied those who don't feel like me. Of course it sucks. That wasn't the argument. That was my argument. I mean, this series sucked, but the season and the 2 rounds before that were pretty awesome. Only 4 teams made it as far as the Cubs did this year. Of course, I'm sad that it's over, and I'm not at all happy with how it ended, but ...
