How much longer will this theriot/soriano disaster go on? At this point I'm rooting for Reed Johnson to start over Pie just so that the lineup doesn't suck like this.

I wonder if Lou would ever bat Soto second? Move Fukudome to leadoff and then Soto in the 2 slot.

I'm doing the PA for today's BSU baseball game and somehow got suckered into letting my roommate (student paper's beat writer for the team) borrow my laptop and watch my MLB.TV while I'm doing work.

Not sure how that happened.

The rare exceptions are these very early games, or the game coming back from all star break, late season games or playoffs. I think Lou is sticking with the same lineup just to avoid any perception of panic over the first one. One game shouldn't determine anything (although Theriot and Soriano's careers should have determined it long before now).

I must have missed something...are there seriously people panicing over the first game? After last year's first game I thought this one was outstanding....we'll win games and lose games all year...Monday was just one of them.

Agree Jersey. I was giving Theriot a pretty hard time Opening Day (probably due to being out at 10 am that morning) and it seemed the people around me had the reaction, "How could you not like Theriot?" Not surprising.

Bought a couple good tix behind home plate for today's game. I think TRL struggles a bit but the bats pick us up. I think we get the W today, 6-4. Gorgeous day BTW.
Cause my life is dope and I do dope [expletive].

[The sound of fastballs] was one of those things that told me my pitches were fast....because I've never heard pitches as loud as mine.

I'm not the manager, so complaining does me very little good, but Theriot leading off seems about as smart as drinking a bottle of ExLax and then just putting on a pair of adult diapers to handle the outcome - and then wearing said diapers all day long afterwards.
FKA CubsHawks25 ... and no, its not just because the Bears won the NFC and went to the Super Bowl.

Or JH could just realise that the answer is right under his nose and grab Kenny Lofton.

This is bad? I wonder if this could explain the funny looks I've been getting at work lately.

I was really hoping Lou would see the error of his ways after Monday. Theriot-Soriano 1-2 is [expletive]. ](*,)

He won't after just one game. Not sure how long Lou will ride it if it's not producing results, but I do expect he will make the change, unlike some other managers we've had.

No...we just have the luxury of watching last year as well so there is plenty of evidence to back up the inferences taken from Monday's dreadful 1-2 performance.
