Has there ever been a year where so many top 10-20 prospects were breaking in, in the first ~3 months of the year? Especially this many with potentially elite talent?

That was my immediate thought as well. He was good, not great at AA(.840OPS). That's not the time of dominating I'd need to see in order to completely skip AAA.

And this was written before the Buxton/Lindor callups.

Eh, he's top 12 in the Southern League in OPS. I'd imagine he's at least one of the 5 youngest in the league. His numbers are very competitive with everyone not named Kyle Schwarber in AA. His numbers since the start of May would put him above Dan Vogelbach in the top 4 in the league. He's not completely dominating, but he's doing everything anyone could expect from him. May still be being rushed, but I don't think he'll be embarassed in the majors.

He's OPSing .840 in AA, and the Twins starting CF is sitting at .594 The Twins are unexpectedly in contention and don't have time to dick around.

Obviously not making any proclamations since it's so early, but Yoan Moncada so far in A-ball:

Bubba Starling hit for the cycle last night, looks like he might be figuring it out a bit. At 22, in AA he's slashing .282/.345/.455 with a 8% BB rate and 22% K rate and 6 HR.

I saw him a couple months ago and was really surprised he was ever considered a top prospect. I know he was regarded as this super athlete, but he looked really plain. Little skinny stick legs, really boring swing. I dunno, he didn't stand out to me at all.

:( I really wanted him in the draft. Stupid Cherington should have gotten canned a few months earlier.

I'll get in on this. I saw him the other night back in Gardner, he looks skinnier now than he did when he was in high school.

Oh, I agree. Especially when it doesn't matter for players on the 40-man and when alcohol is so readily available.

But I find it funny because it's a Cardinals prospect and it might legitimately hurt their big league team in 2016.

At the moment, I don't think punishments for weed are nearly strong enough.

The rule is dumb; Reyes is dumber.
During a "Not For Women Only" panel discussion, former Cubs pitcher Mike Bielecki asked several players to invent a baseball catch phrase for Viagra. Theriot's ad campaign: "Viagra -- I always play hard."
