Skyrim turned 4 years old last month and was still the 8th highest selling Steam game in 2015.

I played a lot of final fantasy as a kid...but haven't really liked it for quite some time now probably since 10. I also never have done Kingdom Hearts.

I think FFX was the last really good installment. More recent installments have had their moments, but have been generally underwhelming. VI/VII/VIII was the peak, imo. Some people really liked FFIX, but I actually kind of hated it. And I find the Kingdom Hearts series to be an abomination.

I've heard and seen some promising things about FFXV, but if it continues the downward trend, it'll probably be the last one I play (aside from the FFVII remake, of course).

What did you hate about 9? Ok, there was a bit too much chocobo mining, and combat was really slow compared with the other games, which was probably a reaction to how fast it was in 8

And yeah, 11 was a lousy MMO, x-2 was garbage, 12 was meh and frequently annoying, 13 was bad.
We are doomed.

Left 4 Dead 2 is 6 years old. And Garry's Mod is 11 years old.

I'm surprised Garry's Mod is still selling so much, I kinda figured everyone on Steam had it at this point.

But both of those are Valve or heavily Valve related...so I guess that somehow makes them less impressive to me because reasons.

Wrapped up a 100% run of Tomb Raider and loved every minute of it.

Now I can't decide: Fallout 4 for $40 or Witcher 3 for $28

I wanna play both of those but my hard drive went kaput and I haven't replaced it yet. I'd do fallout first myself.

I'm about 85 hours into Fallout 4 and I'm coming up on some very tough decisions to make. The community building aspect is probably what's taking up most of my time, though.

"Go secure this new settlement and set up a beacon"
"Okay"

*spends 45 minutes building an entire wall around new settlement and adding buildings and beds and resources before building the recruitment beacon*

Whereas I've ignored that aspect of the game almost entirely

Same. I got the platinum trophy a week or so ago and have moved on for now. I'll go back when I have the itch or when the DLC comes out, because there's plenty more I want to do, but I decided to move on to other games for now lest I lose control of my life.

Just get Fallout 4 and be done with it.

Building walls is a boondoggle, especially for bigger settlements. Save that steel/wood and just build turret positions. All you really need to do to keep a settlement safe is to have a defense rating that is greater than the sum of the settlement's food + water.

Yeah I doubt I could fit half my list on my computer. I only have 10 installed and even that is more than I need.

This is true, but I play on PC and I use cheat codes so I have infinite materials, so the only thing holding me back is the size of the settlement

In my annual attempt to get my father to play something other than Return to Castle Wolfenstein, I got him a flight joystick and bought a bunch of flying simulators/combat sims, some of which can be adjusted to be more arcadey and simple. He's actually a pilot, has taken all the courses and everything like that, and absolutely worships airplanes. He used to play games like Aces of the Pacific and Aces of Europe back in the day. So, in my final attempt to indoctrinate him into something other than Wolfenstein, I got him IL-2: 1942, Microsoft Flight Simulator, Wings of Prey, and Descent 1 & 2 (old school sci-fi game).

He used to play the crap out of Descent so I"m hoping that at least shakes him from Wolfenstein. And while he prefers things to be easy, he's the type of person who might prefer the realism of a flight sim. I remember he played an Aces over Europe mission where he flew the entirety of the mission to the destination... it was like an hour of nothing, and he loved the crap out of it.

Either way, I'm hoping this will bring him some new entertainment in his life. This is my last attempt at indoctrinating him into something new. Wish me luck.

Pretty much $5 a piece on Steam.

So I played all the Assassin's Creed games up through Black Flag, but skipped Rogue and Unity. Thinking about snagging Syndicate. Am I missing anything if I don't play Rogue/Unity first?
