Only got through 5 episodes so far. My wife is making us "savor" them and go slowly.

George Maharis was an actor who was arrested for lewd, gay sex in a bathroom. That's just...bad luck.

"George Maharis Arrested in Men's Room", Gay Scene, December 1974: "Famous Hollywood actor George Maharis was arrested November 21 and charged with committing a sex act with a hairdresser in the men's room of a gas station in Los Angeles... He was booked on a sex perversion charge along with Perfecto Telles, 33, the hairdresser, and released on $500 bail, according to police." An earlier guilty plea for a Hollywood lewd conduct arrest on 15 December 1967 with a male is also documented.

About halfway through and the good stuff is just as good as it ever was. The George Senior eps were really tedious though

Yeah, all of the "George Senior becomes a wimp"-stuff I wasn't a fan of; it's really kind of a waste of Jeffrey Tambor. He's much better being furiously pathetic a la Hank Kingsley than just straight up pathetic.

I agree, the route they took with George Sr. is really the only thing I can think of to even remotely complain about.

The only thing that I actually wanted them to call back to and they didn't was Franklin.

Dammit i didn't think about this, but now that you mention it, that was a glaring omission.

And let me also echo the George Sr. having no testosterone thing being tedious.

It was ok. They did about as well as they could have done given the limitations, which were not insignificant.

My only real complaint is that I think it could have been edited a little tighter. It dragged in parts.

Yeah the George Sr episodes are the only ones I really don't care for. I love it otherwise though.

And for me I was hoping for one last chicken dance.

George sr. going "I had one cute hat! And I lost it in the CVS parking lot!" Was one of my favorite moments of the fort 9 episodes.

So C.W. Swappigan's? What are the chances that C.W. stands for Carl Weathers?

Once she switches over to the short hair, she looks a lot better.

I feel like the BBC has honored Arrested Development with the current layout on their newsite, with a story about France's first gay marriage right next to a story about a man dying from a beaver attack.

oh man, the way david cross says "[expletive]!" when they tell him there's a raccoon on the patio makes this whole endeavor worth it.

Re-watching it again; the good stuff definitely benefits from going in a second time, but man, the George Sr./Oscar stuff is just straight up bad outside of Dr. Roger Sterling.

Was that the same actor? The past 7 years have not been kind if so.

That's not the same Steve Holt.

It is.

The scenario they set up down in Mexico was good, right up to revealing how George Sr. was bilking the executives for $10k glasses of lemonade.

It got kind of confused and weird when they tried to tie it into the larger story and when the twins switched personalities because (I think?) the maka root was downhill from the toilet?
