Star Wars Thread

Postby ctcf » Tue Mar 31, 2015 11:52 am

I've never seen one around here so I figured why not. I'm sure some of you nerds are as jazzed as I am about the new ones coming up.

Apparently there will be a new trailer attached to Avengers: Age of Ultron.

I'm guardedly optimistic.

I just still haven't entirely recovered from The Phantom Menace though.

The complete lack of Lucas gives me unattainable high expectations for this movie.

I expect a trailer will surface at the Star Wars conference thingy in April. They're so announcing details about the new Star Wars Battlefront game

It's best to just treat the prequels like they never existed (unless it's for RedLetterMedia purposes).

I've only shown my son the original trilogy. He loves them. I am waiting until he is older to have "the talk" about the prequels.

That game is the SW thing I am by far the most excited for; I loved the first two. The test footage from the scrapped version that was supposed to come out years ago made it look fantastic:

That's solid parenting right there.

I actually still haven't seen Episode 3 which is kinda amazing considering how much of a Star Wars nerd I was as a kid. At this point I'm just refusing on principle.

Don't kids generally love the prequels?

Kids love pretty much anything that is placed in front of them even if it's rubbish.

Yep. They're perfect for kids. I mean, the podrace and Jar Jar are huge kid pleasers.

Seems silly to deprive kids of some SW movies if they like the other ones. Who cares about a child's taste in movies.

As a kid I probably watched the Transformers and GI Joe movies 20 times apiece. Kids are kinda supposed to love crap.

My kid only gets to listen to Chvrches and Velvet Underground. And I won't teach him how to shave until he's grown a proper mustache.

The Transformers movie might've been one of the first movies I owned on VHS.

The current trend of commercials full of 30's-ish, hipster casting call-types having kids is more than a tad disconcerting.

I remember having to rent a VCR along with the movie.
