as of 2014 (this was the newest I could find) southwest was ahead of delta, united, american and us airways.

actually shocked at spirit only being in the 5's.

only flown virgin once and it was glorious. no surprise they're where they are.

If Amtrak had better routes and more destinations, I'd be on that in a hot second.

Personally, I'd rather get to places in a faster and safer manner, but that's just me.

Unless that yearly pass were super cheap or something, but why would it be?

I still fly all the time. I just occasionally feel the need to drink heavily first.

I might be flying to Europe a lot in 2016. Heaven help me.

Stupid airplane paranoia aside, that was just magnificent.

I mean, faster...sure. But trains and planes are just about equally safe. Most of the people that die as a result of trains are people that were hit by a train, not passengers.

plus the people who die of old age by the time they arrive at their destination

I've been on numerous flights where I thought we were going to go through the runway, but mostly because the pilot slammed on the brakes like he was getting close to the end of the runway. But, not being able to see forward, I am only speculating. It could be that he was purposely trying to make his co-pilot spill his cocktail.

Normally that's because ATC wants them to turn at a specific place off the runway.

Maybe ATC should tell the pilot this information before they touch down instead of 500 ft. before the turn?
