We will have a ton of money with the cap exploding and Noah and then Rose coming off the books. I just don't have much confidence in the FO's ability to get that star to come here. I'd really like to take a shot on Cousins, but I don't think we have enough to make a trade.

The problem with the cap exploding is that many teams will have a ton of money and the Bulls have always lost out in those scenarios. Also I'm not sure exactly how this works but I believe that with the cap exploding the cost of a max contract explodes as well. We might have enough for a max guy but possibly not much else. And yes the 3 star method has been a successful model in the past but one of those stars has to be a top 10 guy. Curry, LeBron, Dirk, Kobe, Garnett, Wade. The exception was SA (Leonard wasn't at top 10 level at this point and might be now) but they have the best coach in the league. The Bulls don't have that and it will be difficult for them to find that guy in the draft or FA.

True. Hopefully our luck turns around and we get one to come here to play with Jimmy.

Niko is just a stupid basketball player. He has absolutely no idea what's going on. He's got size athleticism and skill and he is still a bad player.

OKC cut 10 pts off the lead in 45 seconds because our team is dumb.

We need to give Rose a break. After all the surgeries and then his vision early in the year I'll give him 60 games to get back to being a great player.

Finally a good game. More Portis.

I should have. This isn't even basketball they are playing tonight. This game is like an all star game with all bad players.

Everyone said Rose had to change his game after the injuries. Initiate less contact at the rim. Well that player is no good. Just odd seeing him attempt 15 footers and floaters. Is there no middle ground?

12/20 with 25 points not good enough for you?

Ryne Ween complains more during a Bulls win than Sulley does during an Illinois win

It is, but not typical of Rose this year. It's one thing if he wasn't finishing at the rim, but he doesn't even try to anymore.

Agree. Just seemed like a weird time to bring it up. He's looked better and more aggressive lately. Hopefully that continues. He has been one of the worst players in basketball this year, but he's showing signs of improvement. If nothing else, I'm just happy to not have to watch him chuck 7 threes per game.

Rose out tonight with a hamstring issue.

My issue with Rose is that while I know he can't be the type of player he was, mentally he isn't as strong either. And by that I mean that the main reason I don't think he is attacking the rim like he used to is that he is playing for his next contract. He's said so himself. He'll get a $100M contract from someone if he doesn't get another major injury even if he plays like he is now. Maybe he can bring back the old Rose down the stretch and in the playoffs, but that's the only time he'll risk contact near the rim game after game.

He's not getting $100m if his numbers so far this season stay the game over the next 18 months. Even with the cap exploding.

There's always one dumb team. Jordan still runs one.

Jimmy Buckets is the man! Portis seems pretty legit too.

Mirotic needs to not be a SF.

Hinrich needs to not be a player.

Mirotic makes me sad, but Portis is fun as hell.
Additional rule: you have to have one or the other. The only exception is you have an amazing board name. davell, I'm looking at you; put up a [expletive] avatar or something if your name only sounds like somebody tried say Dave as they lapsed into a coma.

Love the fact that Portis is playing so well basically on instinct and energy. Still a lot of room for fundamentals. Ceiling is pretty high.

Mirotic does well when he plays the 4. He can't do the 3.

Took an injury to Noah for Portis to see meaningful playing time

Are we gonna keep Pau for a run? I hope so but as an expiring that's still a premier big he could probably get us something decent.

Like Payne and a 1st from OKC.
