It would be huge to edge out Michigan today at home. Hopefully enough folks show up to make it a decent atmosphere...

Not optimistic about the crowd with winter break and the general apathy towards the program. I'm afraid we'll be seeing a lot of Alex Austin tonight with Lewis out.

Some Michigan guy who's done nothing all year always destroys us.

he's done nothing his entire Michigan career. This is the most unexpected outburst by a Michigan basketball player since Spike in the NC game.

Dawkins last year scored 15 points for all of nonconference play. Then he scored 20 in his Big Ten debut against Illinois.

well, big men do typically develop much slower...but while i'd love nothing more than for this to be a kind of breakout, it might be more likely that the Illini (Beileini?) have the same indifference toward post defense that we do

We're down to 2 frontcourt players.(From the 5 we had entering the school year) Morgan's a stiff and Finke's a stretch 4/5. Hopefully Hammons gets kicked off the team before we play them or he's going to score 70.

Thoughts on the B1G after the first week:

- Purdue might just be the best team in the B1G this year.
- If NW wins tonight and can avoid losing to Rutgers, they should make the tournament. They'll have to go at least 10-8 in conference, though, since their non-conference was really weak.
- Illinois has no way to rebound or post defend, which isn't going to win them any easy games.
- MSU really misses Valentine
- Minnesota, Illinois, PSU, Nebraska, and Rutgers are BAD.

Predicted standings at end of year:
1. Purdue
2. Michigan State
3. Maryland
4. Michigan
5. Iowa
6. Indiana
7. Northwestern
8. Ohio State
9. Wisconsin
10. Illinois
11. Minnesota
12. Penn State
13. Nebraska
14. Rutgers

Oddly enough, Purdue was up 15 when I posted that 44-29.

The officiating in this Illinois Ohio State game has officially become comical.

I came here to mention it. Both these teams look really good. Pulling for OU and I don't really know why. Maybe just rooting against the traditional powerhouse.

Buddy Hield turned into Stephen Curry this game.

That was the greatest OU basketball game I've ever watched. Really hate losing that one, but I was expecting a 20-pt loss tonight.

I once watched Stephen Curry score 41 for Davidson, while Blake Griffin had 25 and 21 for OU in a game. This tops that.

Sad I missed the game except for the 3rd overtime. Hield is ridiculous. Should be a fun game return game in Norman. If OU plays that well again, no way we'll beat them there.
