2014 HR Derby Discussion & Transactions

Postby Southpaw19 » Fri Mar 21, 2014 7:21 am

Sorry for getting this out later than usual this season.

This will be the final year for this format as we know it. Next season I will arrange the groups differently, and I'll be working out that system over the course of the next year.

Good luck to all and let's try to enjoy this!

[expletive], I have no clue who to pick for the wildcard. I am so damn out of the loop.

Watch MLB Network's 30 in 30 series and look for a power hitting rookie. ;)

There are like 5 or 6 really good WC choices this year.

There's 1 that really everyone should be taking, at least until the ASB when prospects could be up

So does Southpaw purposely leave out an obvious player for the wildcard each year?

It's not my fault if they don't qualify. I will change that beginning next year. I didn't have time this year without delaying the sign-up period.

I think it's any player not on the A,B,C or D lists.
NSBB Keeper League Record:
2006-2013: 134-69 - 2x wildcard, 3x division champ, 1x league champ
2014: 2-3, L2

Roadkill Keeper League Record:
2010-2013: 45-42 - 2x division champ, 1x league runner up
2014: 4-1, W1

Yeah it's anyone not listed on the A, B, C, D lists. Basically anyone who hit less than 11 HR last year, which looks to be the cutoff, so it's either MLB guys who failed to do so or minor leaguers who didn't play last year.

Just so I can fully update my roster/database... can anyone clarify if the usernames listed below (people who played last year), are now using a new username this year and have already signed up?

• New York Cubs Fan
soccer10k
• sweetpeteman
evv98
• Mariner's Revenge
pitchcs

I'm trying to clarify, because this weekend, I will be asking these people if they want to sign up before the deadline if they haven't already.

Yep, counting on Braun being suspended again purely on spite.

Abreu has to suck, or I will drown in tears.

Braun [expletive] owes me for last year.

I thought about Braun but I couldn't stand to have that douche on my team

Then it was between Olt and Abreu. I had to go with the Cubs player in that case.

These were pretty much my sentiments. Although I came close to choosing Granderson, but [a] I don't know if he's injury prone now, and [b] don't know how his power will translate for the Mets.
