  1. David Haugh and the Score reporting that the Bears board of directors have voted to move forward with the Hammond, Indiana site. Adam Schefter now reporting it, too.
  2. Not when expectations are high. ETA: Not my expectations... the expectations as a team.
  3. Again... I totally understand the ebb and flow of a 162 game season. But a 10 game losing streak should have been a wake-up call. They've been sleep-walking for more than 3 weeks,
  4. I'll just just drop this here: “This has been a wake-up call,” Taillon said. “I hope for everyone, it definitely has been for me. Nothing’s going to be handed to us, and the Brewers are for real again. They’re a very good team. Our division’s really good. The league’s really tough, and it’s just going to take a lot of work to dig ourselves out of this. Obviously, it’s a great group of guys that work really hard, but I definitely think it’s been a wake-up call. I mean, I know it has been for me, for sure.” https://www.chicagotribune.com/2026/06/02/chicago-cubs-athletics-wake-up-call/ So the 10 game losing streak and 5-16 record before last night's game wasn't a wake-up call? I know there's an ebb and flow to a 162 game schedule... but geez!
  5. You're spot on. The last thing the NFL wants is for a team to set a precedent by having to finance it's own stadium. That would prompt other cities who have teams to say... "Hey... they did it without government subsidies... why can't you?" The Bears did not do themselves any favors the way they lobbied for a new stadium. And now they... especially Kevin Warren... look like fools. And I'm OK with that!
  6. The last thing Illinois legislators... especially downstate legislators... want to do is to explain to their constituents why it's giving the Bears money. And make no mistake about this... the Bears (and the NFL in general) are looking for government handouts at every turn despite being a multi-billion dollar business. The Bears actually did very little with downstate legislators to "grease the skids" on a deal. Very little lobbying on their part. Kevin Warren simply believed being "The Bears" and having a deal in place with Indiana was more than enough to get what he wanted from the state. He was very wrong. I want the Bears to stay in Illinois. The Bears want to stay in Illinois and play in a new stadium. Ultimately, they will. They're just not getting everything they want.
  7. I think I could beat Conforto in a foot race. I'm 62 and have one knee replaced.
  8. I think the Cubs are hating the new roof. They just don't look comfortable on defense. Happ especially.
  9. Not really rooting for Team USA... but if they were going to go down... certainly glad it was because Palencia dominated the ninth!
  10. My day today: 1) Read up on, and watch videos of, last night's win. 2) A well deserved-nap after a very long night/morning. 3) Watch a little NFL while looking up Green Bay misery porn. It's a great day to be a Bears fan!!!!!!
  11. Watching the post-game show on Prime. Caleb was awesome! A legend was born tonight!
  12. A ridiculous end to the game. So many things wrong with that play.
  13. To the schools that decline... I do feel bad for the seniors. They'll miss out on one last chance to suit up.
  14. I thought a playoff system was going to "take the politics out of the process." It's a complete joke. I realize there is always going to be a team that feels left out, but to have it happen so that three loss Alabama can get in makes the process worthless.
  15. Weird to think I fell asleep around the 12th inning and only saw 2/3's of game 3.
