Re: Are we getting Black Monday II? Bears offseason thread

You have to try lots of options. Put a guy in a new system and who knows, he might improve. But if the worst case is you actually get worse QB play, then you'll also get a much better draft pick in 2022 and an entirely new regime to make that selection. Drew Lock's only real playing time has produc...

Re: Are we getting Black Monday II? Bears offseason thread

The receiver situation in Philadelphia has been much more putrid than the Bears during the Wentz era. Ertz saved him from having no one to throw to at times. I'm on board if Phily was willing to move him. Doesn't seem all that likely if the new coach wants Wentz to stay.

Re: Are we getting Black Monday II? Bears offseason thread

Between trying to fit his salary into this current roster and losing all of the draft capital, it would be the current team minus Allen Robinson and no OT replacements, with an aging defense only getting older. I don't think this is the best way for them to go. And that's ignoring how embarrassing i...

Re: Are we getting Black Monday II? Bears offseason thread

I don't believe there have been many rumors on that Phillips story. There was a tweet from some rando that got some play but I have not seen much of anything suggesting it's on the table, let alone imminent. It should happen, but I'm more just hoping than reading the tea leaves. Also, Pace would ne...

Re: Are we getting Black Monday II? Bears offseason thread

I expect they replace Phillips (all the rumors seem to make this one a simple prediction) and fire Pagano. Pace and Nagy both have 2 years left on their contracts and the new president of operations doesn't need the headache of trying to replace a GM and a HC when jobs are already being filled, alon...

Re: The Politics Thread

Saw a tweet yesterday and can’t find it now that said something along the lines of:

Trump lost the presidency, lost the House and lost the Senate. Son of a bitch, he was right. He did make America great again.

Scarborough is a piece of horsefeathers, but this is great.... https://twitter.com/hollerella/status/1347144305836773376 The only thing I really don't like about him is how he talks over his wife and his guests. I enjoy his show more than any other. And it was excellent this morning starting off wi...

Re: The Politics Thread

Is my worry that now, with a 50-50 split, that there will be one or two rogue Democrats in the senate that might not vote in favor of some Democratic policies warranted? That was always going to be the case and was the case back when there was a supermajority for 7 months for Obama. The point is Mc...

Do you think all the anger should be directed at Trump, though? Mitch did quite a bit of damage himself by shutting down the stimulus bump. I think they both horse horsefeathers their party.

Has there been a pass by the Bears yet that was beyond the first down marker? I’m hating this conservative play calling.

Re: Week 17 Chezhead McGees vs Bears

Bakhtiari being out is probably already changing the way Rodgers plays this game. Rodgers will be getting the ball out of his hands quickly, which will make blitzing less effective. There is no way he will trust his LT to protect his blind side against the Bears.

Re: Week 16 Bears @ Jags

Jags not only have the #1 pick, but they have an extra first rounder and 4th rounder from the Jalen Ramsey trade, an extra 2nd round pick from the Yannick Ngakoue trade, and an extra 5th rounder from the Ronnie Harrison trade. They are also the team with the most cap space at $75m. They can make a p...

Re: Complain about your fantasy team that no one cares about here

Only down 6 with Josh Allen left to play. He averages 60 in our league each week. Barring an early injury, I should be good to go. I don't understand how any fantasy league plays in week 17 with so much riding on their finals. Players sitting or playing very little is a major concern.

On sorta kinda a related note, I was at the game when Howard Griffith scored 8 TD's for the U of I in 1990. That was fun.

Playing in the finals this week. I assembled a record breaking team. My opponent in the semifinal didn't know what hit him. Darren Waller went off on Thursday night, Josh Allen went crazy on Saturday afternoon and Aaron Jones went berzerk on Saturday night. I was up 187-24 (3 players each) before th...

Merry Christmas everyone. In 2021 I'm selling my house and my business and semi-retiring back to Illinois to be closer to my mom and dad while I can still spend time with them. Been in Cali for 25 years. That's long enough. Looking forward to that. Stay safe and warm!

Youngsters. I had a Halloween costume of the early '70's Bears. I don't recall if the jersey even had a number. I had a Bears helmet though. My favorite players at that time were Gale Sayers, Brian Piccolo, Bobby Douglas, Dick Butkus and Doug Buffone. Piccolo and Sayers was for the movie rather than...

Re: Week 15: Bears/Vikings Part 2

Anyone else high on Kyle Trask? I would love to pick him up if he’s available. If not I hope the Bears go OT in the first round. The Tankathon mock has us taking Trask in Rd 2 with a G and T in 1 and 3. I'd be OK with a 2nd rd QB. As for the line, I think Massie is cut this offseason but Leno is ba...
