Re: Golf thread

Maybe I will feel different when I get out there, but the entire concept of “gimmes” bugs me. It takes 5 seconds to tap it in and pick it up. We actually gamble when we play, and anything inside the grip of the putter is a gimme. The biggest reason is to keep play moving, especially on a hot day. W...

Re: Golf thread

Nobody cares alert: update on my learning to golf phase I’m going to the practice range a couple of times a week now, still having fun. I usually have one or two swing fixes I want to implement each time, and I have evolved from “idiot who looks like he has never held a club before” to “idiot who i...

Re: NFL’s attempted season

It will depend on whether Seattle can get him signed to a new contract as to whether this trade was worth it, IMO.

Re: Small business owners thread

I just got an email from SBA for a loan approval of up to $150K. It's a 30 year loan and has a 3.5% interest rate and doesn't kick in for 12 months from the date of loan approval. Has anyone gotten this yet and are there some drawbacks that I need to be aware of if I go ahead and file for this loan...

Re: Small business owners thread

I finally got my stimulus check. I set up direct deposit late, and figured they would end up just mailing me a check, but my accountant told me to look up the status of my deposit (she learned that there were updates) and when I did, it said it would be direct deposited on the 6th. And sure enough, ...

Re: Chicago Bears offseason

Schedule works out pretty well for the Bears, IMO. A late BYE week (11) will bode well if they are a contending team. Helping them contend is a schedule that starts with 6 straight losing teams from 2019 and the non-playoff Rams thru 7 weeks. Granted, one of those teams is the revamped Bucs, but th...

Re: Chicago Bears offseason

So Ginn, Wims, and Ridley likely competing for 2 spots, though you could keep 7 WR if the young guys force the issue, or if they're just fully treating Patterson as RB/returner. I wondered if this is part of the strategy at RB, not that I really want it to be. Its an interesting dilemma. I'm not su...

Re: Chicago Bears offseason

Andy Dalton is available I'd prefer Dalton and Foles competing in training camp over Trubisky, but I doubt that happens. I am interested in Kenny Stills for that burner WR. I'd go back in time, keep that 4th and sign Dalton now. Kind of would like to bring in a UDFA QB as an alternative to a PS QB ...

Re: Chicago Bears offseason

You're not totally wrong. Obviously the skills at S gave greatly shifted already with offenses. You're still looking at differences in how the position is played, that you aren't gonna literally just drop in a CB without prior development at S (and this year will likely suck to try and do a crash c...

Re: Chicago Bears offseason

Question: Why are they available? Answer: As running backs lose importance in the nfl, so do safeties and mlb’s Just play with 3 cb’s and Jackson Why is Clowney still available? Are you under the impression that anyone that isn't currently signed is no good? I wouldn't take that stance. Sometimes a...

Re: Chicago Bears offseason

Last I saw, Eric Berry was still a free agent. He took a whole year off to nurse his injuries. Fresh legs.

Looks like there are some other options that could be brought in as well. Tony Jefferson and Tavon Wilson to name a few.

What I'm reading is that the Bears gave up both 6ths and a 7th to move to 173 and they get a 7th.

So a 3 for 2?

Raw's post is a more accurate portrayal of the trade, but yeah.

I'm reading that all the Bears have left in this draft after the trade to pick Mooney is a 7th rounder, and it's not the 7th rounder they already had.

Re: Chicago Bears offseason

Not sure I understand the Vildor pick. Unless they think of one of the CB's already on the roster could convert to safety, there is now a plethora of depth guys on the roster. Assuming one of Roberson, Toliver or Johnson wins the spot opposite Fuller, you also have Shelley, Denmark, Burns, Crawford,...

Re: Chicago Bears offseason

I have never understood the argument, at least in the first few rounds of the draft, of risking losing a player you really like and you have a need for by trading down a few spots with the hope that he's still there and getting another later pick. If Kmet is your guy, it's too risky to lose him for...

Re: Chicago Bears offseason

I guess if you really feel Montgomery still has something to offer above random replacement RB. Montgomery is a fine RB. The problem last year was the inability to spread the field so that running lanes could be created. Get a QB in there that can actually hit an open receiver, get a TE in there th...

The consensus is that both of the 2nd round picks were 1st round talent, so that's what I'm hanging my hat on. . I do not believe that is close to being consensus. Plus why would anyone give Pace’s draft picks the benefit of the doubt. Because one draft pick failure does not necessarily mean all ot...

Re: Chicago Bears offseason

I really don't understand all of the "we have 10 TE's in camp" comments. Several of those guys were on the roster last year and TE was a huge black hole on offense and in an offense that heavily utilizes the TE position. It seems like Pace had that vision in mind when he drafted Shaheen an...
