Re: AAF 1st (only?) season

Tickets to the San Diego Fleet game this weekend are $30 regardless of where you want to sit. It's supposed to rain for their first home game, but even still, I'd venture to guess that the crowd for the game on Sunday will be comparable or even bigger than a Charger game this year. And that's coming...

My favorite part of that Super Bowl is that the Chik-Fil-A in the Falcons stadium was closed on Super Bowl Sunday just like every other Sunday.

Re: The Bryce is Right, Bitch

did the Padres wake up and decide to be a real team in the last week, or are they just trying to make it look like they tried for their fans? (jumping in on Harper, Machado and Realmuto) I think it’s the former, actually. They’ve freed up some money and Preller, while bat [expletive] nuts, is aggre...

We've been getting a lot of rain this winter. California with lots of rain >>>>>>>>>>>California with very little rain. It's amazing how much more beautiful it is even in my own neighborhood after some good solid rains, which happens far too infrequently. This Spring will be fantastic for hiking no ...

Re: The Travel Thread

hit up the badlands and the grand canyon on a road trip last january. both were horsefeathering incredible. That sounds like quite the road trip. I've mapped out a tentative road trip to hit up Badlands, Yellowstone, Glacier, and Roosevelt in one long road trip. About two days of pure driving from ...

yes

I guess I will be saving money by not going to that game if the Raiders do choose to play in San Diego next year. It might be fun going to a Raiders/Chargers game with the Chargers being the visitors.

Re: The Travel Thread

Yep. I have a NoCal trip planned for April, and Yosemite is tentatively the big thing we want to do, but it may turn into a wine country excursion. We rented a cabin up near King's Canyon and then used that as our home base to find good hiking trails here and there. Plenty to see. Which entrance is...

Hey you socal people. I'm thinking of going to the LA area this spring with the kiddos. Haven't spent any significant time there in many years. Kind of interested in throwing in a day or two at a national park (if they exist). Any tips? Must do? Do nots? Keep an eye on the government shutdown. I be...

Re: The Travel Thread

I recommend a trip over to Catalina Island with the parks being iffy. Of course, there's Disneyland and Universal Studios and the like. The drive along the coast starting north at Santa Barbara is pretty awesome. The beaches can still be fun for a kid even if it's too cold to go in the water this ti...

Re: The Bryce is Right, Bitch

Theo is being honest as well. He wants Ricketts to bring back some of the millions of the billions in cash in his off shore bank accounts to make his team better, and Ricketts doesn't want to do it. If Theo had access to that money himself, it would already be done.

Doesn't matter who is to blame. Fangio isn't getting his man, so it's not the ideal start for Fangio.

Really cheering for the Raiders to choose San Diego to play their games next year since the Bears play the Raiders on the road. To me, there is no other option, so why it's not already a signed deal is beyond me.

Cutler was a victim in William's Bountygate. I'm shocked Williams ever got an NFL job after that, and I'd be pretty disappointed if the Bears gave him a job.

Re: Chicago Bears offseason

I'm guessing Fangio takes most if not all of the defensive coaching staff with him. He'll probably be hard after guys like Amos and Callahan if the Bears blink. The good news is that the Bears defensive unit in general will be in tact and it makes for a potential lucrative landing spot for a success...

It's Nagy thinking he's duping the secondary into leaning back thinking pass play and then Trubisky hands the ball to Mizzell for no gain. It doesn't work. Place that play in the trash can and pick a new one!

You could, but I'm guessing timing is pretty important on field goals. Trying to dupe the defense by snapping early seems like a good way to decrease your chances of making the field goal.

Re: Round 1: Eagles at Bears Sunday 3:40 on NBC

I've always maintained that there should be a rule against calling time outs at the very last second to ice the kicker. Like in the instance where it happened last night, if the ball is snapped and kicked, you waited too long. The kicker could just as easily miss the first one and make the second on...

Is it just me or did the tip really not seem to affect the outcome of the kick or if anything help keep it from going even farther wide left? It's not just you. I was thinking the same thing but I can't say for sure. I feel the same way. No one noticed any chance in the spin or trajectory of the ba...

Re: Round 1: Eagles at Bears Sunday 3:40 on NBC

Wasn't that Parkey's 6th goal post clank this season or am I confusing someone else doing it between the 4 clank game and last night? My biggest frustration from that game was the first half play calling. Nagy was sending in plays like they were going up against the best defense in the league. I lo...
