Re: Week 11: John Fox*s Bears vs Detroit Sunday noon on Fox

posting this just bc i was curious where he stacked up and looked up a few recent high picks in their first 5 starts (maybe not super revelatory, admittedly) completion% / TD:INT, ypa, ay/a, rush, yds, td Prescott: 69%, 4:0, 7.99 ypa, 9.51 ay/a, 19- 61-3 ( 101.5 qb rating) C. Wentz: 65%, 7:0, 7.55 y...

Re: Movie Thread 2: The Sequel

Finally got around to seeing Get Out this weekend. I'm stealing this sentiment from reading up afterwards, but it has some of the fewest throwaway/filler scenes of any movie I've seen. Everything had a very relevant and specific purpose, so well done. it was kind of distracting though that they cas...

Re: Movie Thread 2: The Sequel

For me, whether they're dead or alive makes a huge difference. Plenty of people will (justifiably) see that as hypocritical, but hey, that's one of my flawed lines in the sand. Like, if Hitchcock were alive today I couldn't in good conscience support his films because of how he treated the actresse...

Schwarber's 6th-worst OF in baseball for statcast's Outs Above Average

UZR's filtering out so many plays with shifts and whatever else now (from what i recall) that its findings don't intuitively make a whole lot of sense anymore to me

Re: Re:

nah, it was a bad play, but nothing worse than some other "great" left fielders have made. He'll be a DH on the downhill side of his career, but don't write him off on one play. He got a little lazy. My guess is it will motivate him. I don't think it is laziness. He just doesn't read the ...

Re: Baez impresses Baez

hell i even like him now an odd season with the bat so far; he's 2nd worst in team WPA, narrowly "trailing" ZobWrist but he's actually been fantastic with men on base: .889 OPS and whiffing just 21% frequency he totally falls apart in high leverage spots, which might mostly explain it, bu...

Re: Despite Schwarber's Low BA do You Bring Him Back Next Year?

If you buy the July-now stretch as being who he actually is as a hitter, you don't have to squint too hard to see him run into a few .270 or .280 seasons, at which point he would be basically a .900+ OPS LF. Guys doing that this year? Justin Upton (and that bitch tommy pham) his career line inc. po...

This guy just seems like he is all about the highest bidder and/or "what can you do for me?" Him as the keystone seems like pretty tenuous footing to make allegations and launch investigations on. But it's ncaa, so they obviously can't be bothered to give a horsefeathers about doing thing...
