Re: Beer Thread 2.0

Nice. When I lived in the area I frequently went to bitter pops. Beer Temple and Beermiscuous were my other go-to bottle shops. Beermiscuous sells individual cans which is nice when there’s a lot of different beers you want to try but don’t want to spend $100. Beer Temple has a great tap room. BP a...

Re: Beer Thread 2.0

I just had a booze delivery from Bitter Pops in Roscoe Village/Lakeview. If anyone is near them, I highly recommend checking them out. Ordered at 2:11PM. They were at my door at 2:20PM. Granted I'm like 6 blocks away, but still, I've seen breweries offering delivery in their neighborhoods for next d...

Re: Politics & Current Events

I don't see Biden making it to the finish line (his health, physical and mental, is a huge concern), so Bernie (or Pete or whoever) may end up back in the fold Saw some rumblings that Elizabeth Warren might be tapped as a Biden's VP choice which would make me a lot more comfortable voting for him, ...

So now the possible narrative is that Trump keeps pushing hydroxychloroquine because it was shown that Novartis paid $1mm for access to Trump a few years ago and people think he has a vested interest in the success of the stuff now. This is just the most absurdly Trumpian thing if true. https://lawa...

Also forgot Maplewood. I drink them quite often. They’re a good versatile brewery. Their Cuppa series is phenomenal as far as stouts go, and they put out some good IPAs as well. Big Pulpy is one of my faves that they release every 6 months or so. I was almost their social media content creator/mana...

Been slowly working through a 30 packs of Hamm's as a beer back for an old fashioned or a mezcal bloody mary since shelter in place started. Hamm's has been my go to dirt cheap beer since I moved to Chicago. I kinda love it. Thought about getting a 30 pack the other day but also thought about all t...

So... what have you guys been drinking? The last couple of weeks I've been going for quantity over quality for obvious reasons. Settled for my old college standby and got some Newcastle yesterday, but a 15 pack of Labatt Blue preceded that. I did add a 4-pack of Off Color Myshka (Russian Serf Stout)...

or wear a bandana like you are Jesse James holding up a train. That works just as well. That's literally what I did yesterday at the grocery store. I hated it. It kept constantly falling and it became incredibly humid because the heat was turned up in the grocery store and as a result it did not pr...

Re: CDC Info on COVID-19 (Corona virus)

I mean it's great people are on board for wearing masks but where TF do we get them? There are no masks available to buy and materials are all sold out everywhere I've been that I can find for DIY versions. We started using bandanas but that's obviously not ideal.

Any tips?

I think it also hammers home the need for a $15 minimum wage as we watch these grocery workers and fast food/restaurant employees that are still employed get put through the ringer.

Lewis appeared on Chris Hayes' podcast too (last summer, I think); well worth a listen. https://twitter.com/CarlosLozadaWP/status/1241792020714344449 I started reading this after seeing this posted here. Not sure if it belongs here, but it's kind of related and I just kinda feel like talking about it. I didn't know much about Kushner outside of the Trump arena. I mean I already hated him because of that and how incompetent he was, but then I watched the "Slumlord Millionaire" episode of Dirty Money on Netflix the other week and now it's as if he's on par with being as despicable as Trum...

Looks like Passan is saying he had it last week.

Good for Syndergaard, bad for cosmic Mets irony.
