Re: Politics & Current Events

But on Saturday, committee chairman Devin Nunes (R-Calif.) accused Democrats of colluding with the government in a “cover up” of information as he announced the memo had been posted online “We actually wanted this out,” Nunes told an audience at the Conservative Political Action Conference. “It’s c...

I like Big & Little's a lot. Really good comfort food at really affordable prices. I mean look at this beautiful bastard: https://i.imgur.com/EMBBx8a.jpg That thing was like $7 or $8 or something. And even though it's pretty basic, their Pizza & Poke spot on Diversey is really good. It's pre...

annihilation is getting kickass reviews I'm very excited for it. As important and great as Black Panther is I hope Annihilation doesn't get lost in the progressive shuffle. It's a diverse female ensemble cast heading an original sci-fi action film. It's success will be important on so many levels. ...

Re: General Baseball Chit-Chat Thread

I know it sounds great if we can throw Bryant, Rizzo, and Contreras into the 9th if we're trailing, but if we're facing someone like the Dodgers and in the bottom of the 8th we're winning and we set down Seager, Bellinger, and Turner or whoever in order I don't want to come back into the bottom of t...

That is objectively the dumbest horsefeathering idea of these "How can we bring people back into baseball!" desperation tactics.

I saw 3 Bilboards - great movie I never want to watch again. I've seen it three times. It's got some harrowing horsefeathers in there but there's enough humor to make it enjoyable on multiple viewings. It's not like Requiem for a Dream or anything. I've yet to see several of the Oscar contenders, b...

You go from hating him and reviling him to not necessarily sympathizing with him, but feeling pity for him. So while it's not a full redemption story (you simply can't apologize for the things he did and said), there are still some redemption qualities in his arc. And even if what t...

I've lived here for over a year and I've still experienced so little in regards to food. I think the only local "foodie" things I could recommend to people visiting is: 1) Brunch at Tweet in Uptown/Edgewater 2) Anything at Little Bad Wolf in Andersonville/Edgewater 3) CB&J or Duck Reub...

It's a really easy stat to understand. WAR and FIP and some other metrics are harder to decipher and understand especially for old school types not named Peter Gammons.

WHIP = WAR + FIP. Obviously.
