Re: The Science Thread

Yep, I looked at it for about 3 seconds with a pair of glasses a student handed me, and my eyes have felt effed up for the past hour. I'm probably permanently blind I was definitely seeing a big spot for a while afterwards. Pretty cool, though, even though we only got about 85% coverage here. I was...

Re: The Science Thread

So is anybody going to watch the eclipse or be down near Carbondale? Looks too cloudy in Chicago. My son's school got a grant to get eclipse glasses for all the kids and it's gonna end up being too cloudy. Disappointing. Yeah that sucks, but the good news is the next one is in April, 2024. https://...

https://twitter.com/danamira/status/898195640739659781 Geez Trump is all the worst parts of big city morals and attitudes all rolled into one cheese filled puff pastry. It's still a marvel to me how he convinced all the rubes in rural Michigan, Wisconsin, and PA he was looking out for them. I was j...

Cards lose giving up 3 in the bottom of the 9th on a dropped Molina ball. Well that doesn't quite tell the whole story. Molina failed to catch a throw home on a hit off the green monster that scored 2. https://www.mlb.com/redsox/video/betts-wins-it-for-the-red-sox/c-1735745083 First ballot HOFer

It blows my mind that the statue in Durham was built in 1924 and it's somehow controversial to take it down. That's like Germany erecting a Hitler statue in 2005 for educational purposes. Yup, its also like the morons who complain about taking out "Under God" in the pledge of allegiance. ...

Back in May it was 4-5 odds that he would not finish his first term. 55% or so.

Edit: Paddy Power has odds at 2-3 he will be gone before his term ends.

Any insight to what this could be about? I doubt it's handing over the reigns to Pence.

Re: Sports Media Thread

They asked Bosio on the Score this morning about Robot umps and he said it would slow the game down. Umps would constantly go under the hood to review a ball/strike call. I don't think he understands the concept of having a "robo" ump call balls and strikes.

Re: Darvish traded to Dodgers

I still have the Red Sox winning the AL East dbacks seem like a good value. rockies too. I like the DBacks value more than the Rockies just because of the pitching but the Rockies bullpen can be lights out at times. I have a feeling Arizona is going to be a very tough out for LA if they get out of ...

Re: Cubs Acquire Justin Wilson & Alex Avila for Candelario, Paredes & PTBNL/Cash

I loved this deal. Yes, it could hurt, but this was a go for it deal at a cost of a blocked guy in Candelario and a raw asset in Paredes. Its the type of move you live with when you go for it. this is about as little i've cared about what we traded away in any trade one of my teams has ever made A ...

i wonder if he has made his way unnoticed to a cubs game at some point in the last 14 years (i'm thinking probably not) If he went dressed up in any outfit but the one he wore to the playoff game there is no way anybody would recognize him. Throw a bryant shersey on him with khaki shorts and he's 7...
