Re: NL Central Also-Rans: Reds, Brewers, Pirates

I think it's fair to question where the Cubs will be after the 2021 season with so many guys ending their contracts or team control then (including Theo I believe), but I am confident that the Cubs will make the necessary preparations. Theo might go on a permanent bender then with another ring or t...

Re: NL Central Also-Rans: Reds, Brewers, Pirates

Not to mention a big reason our farm system is barren is because they are playing on the big league team right now. Also, another got us a closer who helped win a WS. The other prospects got us a very good starter who is under team control for two more years after this.

Re: NL Central Also-Rans: Reds, Brewers, Pirates

Since its Cubs-Brewers the next 3 days, I thought I would check up on things over at brewerfan.net I have a hard time seeing a better front office than the Brewers, at least for longevity. The Cubs FO made a dreadful big $ signing, and look like they potentially made 2 more bad ones this past offsea...

Re: 2017-2018 NHL season

Wouldn't it be extra bad to only give a pass to guys on your teams? That feels hypocritical. what? No. How? "I can appreciate athletes as essentially characters without caring about what they are like as human beings" versus "Man, horsefeathers all the bad ones. Except the ones who w...

Re: Politics & Current Events

Oh joy. Former Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke warned that the Trump administration’s massive, unfunded $1.5 trillion tax cut and about $300 billion in new spending pose serious problems for the future. “What you are getting is a stimulus at the very wrong moment,” Bernanke said at the Americ...

Re: 2017-2018 NHL season

I didn't get to watch much of the Stanley Cup and I'm a Blackhawks fan so I really didn't care who won (I sort of was rooting for the Knights), but I did find this very amusing... Damn, I lost my best friend growing up this past March to suicide. 40 years old. My grandpa did this too 30 years ago.

This is really heartbreaking

I feel like Paxson hit 5 threes in the last game alone.

I might have to go back and watch some bulls games from the 90's.

Re: 2017-2018 NHL season

Anyone else think the clock struck midnight on the Knights after Holtby made that unconscious save in Game 2? I certainly did, believe the Caps will finish it off Thursday night. Wouldn't be surprised if the Knights regress badly next season, could see them going from No. 1 seed to missing the play...

Re: 2017-2018 NBA Season

have the cubs ever had a loss as painful as that? considering the imminent threat of lebron leaving, i can't imagine how bad it must feel for fans of that team For as much as 2003 NLCS game 6 and 7 sucked. NLCS game 1 is right up there too. Cubs sweep the NLCS then if you assume the next 3 games(tw...

Not sure where to put this: A conspiracy theorist on my Facebook feed has had his mind blown that seedless grapes are a GMO food. He’s warning everyone to stop eating them. Re: 2017-2018 NHL season

The games have been really fun. That PP goal by Washington (the one-tie from Ovechkin) was video game hockey. So great. That said, I hope Tom Wilson falls down a hole. The NHL has long moved past the age of head-hunters, and this goon is out there looking to put people in the hospital They have bee...
