Re: Week 1: Bears @ Stupid Cheeseheads 7:20pm NBC

Worst loss I have seen. Nagy crapped down his leg. He needed preseason reps. Agreed. Nagy’s playcalling was awful. If we wanted conservative we would have kept Fox. Very disappointing. Basically 15 scripted plays and Mack almost carried a garbage team to a win but our high profile CB blew the game ...

What an awful cumulative choke job. Lost a lot of faith in Trubisky who looked scared and will someone teach Kyle Fuller how the hell to catch a football?

Re: The Terrible Umpires Thread

Are those Google glasses developed enough that the homeplate ump could wear them and see the strike zone box/pitch trax? Or do we not trust the umps would call what the technology is showing them? I have zero faith in them to call it correctly, in fact I believe they would actively torpedo the proj...

Apparently TB also got a PTBNL and that player is Shane Baz, the Pirates #4 prospect and 1st round selection from the 2017 draft.

Re: Regular Season Rumors

Schoop at SS, Shaw at 2B, Moose at 3B and Aguilar at 1B. This may be the single most awful defensive infield in decades. I'm sure the pitchers are all going to love that.

Brewers are in on Schoop and perhaps Gausman. I imagine one of Corbin Burnes or Keston Hiura has to be involved and I couldn't be happier.

Would have had to be Lange or a healthy Alzolay to match Tate and I wouldn't have been thrilled with either. There's a ton of cheaper options out there.

Re: Regular Season Rumors

Did I miss why everyone hates Almora now and is willing to trade him for whatever? Is it just because of banking on getting Harper and him having nowhere to play? He's playing as well as he ever will. He's not particularly great on the bases, he has average power at best and his average is being ho...

Re: Regular Season Rumors

Why do we want a guy who already has a partially torn UCL like Otani did when he came over? Degrom and Syndergaard absolutely, but I'll pass on giving up assets for Lugo.

Not that I was particularly worried to begin with, but I feel safe in saying no FA of any real substance is going to be joining the Cardinals anytime soon unless they either overpay or their market is completely gone.

I'd like to see those peripherals at AA before getting too excited. A lot of our guys seem to succeed at A+ and fall off after promotion to Tennessee.

Re: Regular Season Rumors

There was a speculation piece written a couple days ago that the Orioles might make Bundy available in a trade. He's sporting a 3.81ERA and his peripherals are just so so, but I wonder how much all of that is dragged down by one horrific start where he went 0IP 5H 7ER 2BB 4HR. Since then he's put up...

At my age it's probably childish to call another man my hero, but that's what Anthony Bourdain was to me. The single most influential person in my life that wasn't family member or friend. His adventures created a spark that saved me from a really rough complacent unhappy time in my early 20s and ga...

Re: 2018 Actual MLB Draft Day(s) Thread

At this point in the draft, don’t expect a prep pick to be underslot, even if he’s picked much higher than normal he consensus rankings. Quite surprising to see them go with a “raw” prospect this high. Goes against their MO. Thus far this draft has Wilken trying to be the smartest guy in the room w...
