Re: Bears 2018 Offseason: Matt Nagy Hired as Head Coach

Buffalo is evidently talking about trading up. They've got 21, 22, 53, and 55. Not that the trade value chart is a great example, but pick 8 is 1400. 21 and 22 are 800 and 780. 53 and 55 are 370 and 350. Their 3rd is pick 96 and is valued at 116. Our 2 4ths are at 96 and 72 points. To match value, ...

Re: Minor League Musings place holder.

It’s a really dumb rule and stupid they test minor leaguers and not major leaguers but it’s also dumb guys keep breaking it if they know the rules don’t do it. What rule is dumb? That they test for anything at all? Or for some particular thing(s) that are on the banned list and perhaps shouldn't be...

Re: Guess what an idiot with a gun did this time

This is all so dumb. I live in Wisconsin and my local reps will be hearing from me on this (yeah I know it won’t do much). I have probably a dozen family members or friends that are teachers in the state and this topic has come up in the past with them and absolutely non of them want to be armed in ...

Willy is the man, he’s definitely going to kicked out of a game Joe West is umping. I think the mound visit limit is a really dumb idea.

Good for them, but they don't get Washington's Birthday off from school? none of the schools around here are closed for some reason. I even get it off work. horsefeathers, I hope I do... I never had it off for school as far as I can remember and none of the schools around me get it off unless it so...

Re: JD Martinez to Red Sox 5/110

Not that I think they are a real threat for Bryce, however they are a big market with wild card ownership, but where does this put the Sox in regards to the LT for not only this year but also next year? They have to be pushing close this year and have to be nearly at it going in to next offseason wi...

I know we can assume guilt by association (with his dad and brothers) but has Tom ever been connected with conservative billionaire horsefeathers? I don’t ever recall seeing his political leanings or donations in the media/public. The sister (Laura? Or Sarah?) is on the opposite side of the politica...

Re: RE: Re: JD Martinez to Red Sox 5/110

I think it’s a fine deal for both sides. I do wonder how his power will play in Fenway though as I believe a lot of his power is to CF and Right-Center and those are the deepest parts of Fenway (and deeper in general compared to other fields iirc). He carries a 1.17 OPS in 400 oppo batted balls. I ...

That special time of year where MLB will spend the next few weeks promoting and marketing Tebow more than they will the dozens of their young stars actually in MLB over the course of the year.

I know generally speaking batting order doesn't overly matter... but if we are going to assume Schwarber/Bryant/Rizzo top 3 most of the time vs RHP do you guys think the pitcher batting 8th will get any thought to get that "extra leadoff guy" in front of those 3? We completely went away f...

Damn, I would’ve loved him for this deal. Start LaStella in AAA and Dyson starts most games against RHP and is a late inning defensive specialist in others.

Re: NL Central Also-Rans: Reds, Brewers, Pirates

Matt Carpenter is already missing some ST time with back tightness, he seems to be on the verge of falling apart. He missed time the last two years with back, oblique and shoulder issues (I believe he had a cortisone shot last year in his shoulder and he really can't throw much anymore). Between age...

Re: Offseason Transactions

At the beginning of the off season, I truly thought we'd be trading Happ or Addy, to get our TOR starter, and signing Cobb to be our back end guy. I'll gladly take Yu, Chatwood, and not touching our position player core, over the other option. Can't believe we've not made a single trade. And got Yu...

Re: Offseason Transactions

At this point, I think there's a decent chance one of Cobb or Lynn may wind up settling for less than we gave Chatwood. Do have to wonder if maybe we jumped on Chatwood a bit early. Revisionist obviously, but Cobb at 4/52 versus Chatwood at 3/38? I can see Chatwood winding up better, but I liked Co...

Re: Offseason Transactions

With how many pitchers are still available I’m not surprised Odorizzi didn’t go for a ton, especially the year he is coming off of and costing $6 million this year and probably 9-10 next year. That being said I’m surprised they decided to sell low unless they think he’s going to stay replacement lev...
