Re: Orioles are shopping Machado and the Cubs are interested per Gordo

So Justin Wilson has no value to Baltimore -- I know that. It would have to be some three-team trade where Justin Wilson goes to Team C and they send a couple prospects to Baltimore. You're not getting a whole lot for Wilson right now. I think we have the pitching prospects to get a deal done. Most...

Re: Orioles are shopping Machado and the Cubs are interested per Gordo

Boy are their expectations going to be shattered with the end return. He’s not going to bring back much more than JD Martinez last year, which was 3 very average prospects and only 1 was top 100 (but not 50, iirc). If we get him it honestly going to be something hilarious like Caritini, Bote, Hatch...

Re: International Free Agency Thread 2018-2019

I like Bote and would like to keep him, but I honestly wonder if the Orioles would really like him? He can play all over the IF (probably some OF too), is cheap and seems like he could be a second division starter for them. They lose Machado this year and Schoop is a FA after next year so they have ...

Re: Orioles are shopping Machado and the Cubs are interested per Gordo

Thanks TT, looking at the charts and reading the article then I guess I’m wrong a little about this year. But since this is basically the same offense as last year and looking at that chart my hunch was somewhat right that they pretty much have a normal distribution/variance/volatility/whatever when...

Re: Orioles are shopping Machado and the Cubs are interested per Gordo

Part of the narrative with the flood of Machado articles yesterday is the Cubs offense is too boom or bust. Which, I don't know if there's any information or metrics out there that are readily available that measures it but if I had to guess the Cubs offense is no more boom or busty than any other t...

Re: International Free Agency Thread 2018-2019

But, it's the Orioles. So, ante up and get the 3.75M or whatever you can get, Theo. It sucks though, because even the O's will notice they're sitting on a gold mine, with 15-20 teams calling about this money...... During the Ohtani stuff, in which they were the one team who didn't do a bid/pitch, d...

Miles Mikolas signing looking pretty good through two months of the season. About to go to 6-0 with a complete game shutout of the “Hot Mess” Royals on 108 pitches. His ERA is sub 2.30. Re: The Cardinals

Yuck Alex Reyes last night 7.2, 0 run, 1 hit, 3bb, and 13 k I was thinking about that and Flaherty's most recent start today. They're still going to struggle to score runs with any consistency, but the Cardinals are going to have a monster rotation in 2019 and going forward. Just like the 2015 Mets

Re: THE Bryce Harper in 2018 Thread

So you can only be considered part of a young core if you’re an extension candidate? They have Russell through like 2022, that’s plenty of time to be part of a core. It’s not like he’s a free agent in a year. And yeah I’d hope the best player in the NL and the guy who’s going to be a 4-5 WAR catche...

Re: THE Bryce Harper in 2018 Thread

Russell is 7 months younger and has put up more WAR than Turner in their careers That's fine. I don't view Russell as a part of the young core for the Cubs that won't be moved. I do think Turner is viewed as a part of the young core for the Nationals. I'm not talking about their talent. Russell has...
