Re: The Starting Pitching Trade Candidates

Gotta think you could get something done with the Rays. Besides their already good staff on the MLB roster, this is their staff at AAA: Blake Snell Brent Honeywell Jose Deleon Jacob Faria Taylor Guerrieri They gotta trade some pitching, they just gotta. I forgot what/who I was listening to or readi...

Re: THANK YOU DEX

https://twitter.com/MDGonzales/status/868138074424913921 I know he got paid, but I still feel so bad he's in that horsefeathers. Eh, after those dirty slides this year I don't feel bad at all for him. He took the most money, he knew their whole deal/culture there and made his own bed and had been a...

Re: NBA Playoffs (bulls also)

Part of me thinks LeBron is going to "unexpectedly" lead Cleveland to the title, the other part of me things the Warriors sweep or win in 5. The warriors should win barring any injuries/suspensions. The Cavs are gonna have a hard time holding them under 110-20 a game, their defense is pre...

Re: The Starting Pitching Trade Candidates

Ok, I'll throw a new name out there that hasn't been mentioned yet in the thread. The New York Mets are a dumpster fire right now. Their direction for ROS is a bit murky, but I wonder if Alderson will sell at the trade deadline. If so, I'd inquire about what it would take to get ... Jacob deGrom. H...

Re: Cubs trading Soler to KC for Wade Davis

Just looked at Soler's stats. The dude has doubled-down on a patient approach (40% swing) and is showing a strong discernment on pitches to swing at... and he's been rewarded with a 250 wOBA. Of course he still pours on the negative defensive value. He horsefeathering sucks. Wonderful trade by Theo...

Re: 2017 Draft Thread

Not a mock but Matthew Sauer and Blayne Enlow are 27 and 30 on the FanGraphs board. Sauer seems interesting with a great frame and athletic delivery. I'm meh on Enlow, ceiling sounds along the lines of an Odorizzi. Is that really that bad of a ceiling for someone at 27 or 30, though? If you told me...

Re: On Bended Knee - The Rizzo Thread

Duke, I was wondering if you could pin down what's changed either in Rizzo's approach vs LHP or in how LHP have attacked him these past couple seasons. Between 14 and 15 he basically posted a 400 wOBA against LHP. Last year that dropped to 360, and of course the sample is miniscule this season, but...

Re: General Baseball Chit-Chat Thread

I've never had anything crazy happen to me other than a beaning here and there. In practice in HS a guy somehow managed to foul off a juggs ball while taking a full swing and hit himself in the face and splits his whole lip open and lost some teeth. I was standing right there and still don't underst...

Re: NBA Playoffs (bulls also)

I think he can be a version of Curry in the current NBA. You think he can be that good of a shooter? I don't see a scorer out of Ball like Curry/IT/Harden/etc where he scores like 24+ pts/game. I see him more like of a Jason Kidd mold (with a slightly better offensive game) where he'll go like 18/6...

Re: NBA Playoffs (bulls also)

As a Laker fan I really want Lonzo more than anyone (also keep Russell, they can co-exist as both are plenty capable of doing things off ball. Russell is actually really good at catch and shoot numbers). So I'm excited. Just shoot Lavar to mars. Josh Jackson would be the only other guy at 2 I'd eve...

Re: Minor League Discussion & Boxes, 5-12-17

is there such a thing as too much of a disparity between fb/ch? it almost seems like if you're geared up for 98 and you see 81 coming a hitter might have enough time to recognize and adjust (something that actually sounds disgustingly difficult to an average human like myself as I say it) I remembe...

Re: 2017 Draft Thread

Anyone have Insider that can tell us who Law had the Cubs taking at 27 and 30, in his first mock today? He only went to 27 Nick Allen, SS, Francis Parker (San Diego) High School The biggest knock on Allen is his size -- he’s maybe 5-foot-8 and maxed out -- but he’s a true shortstop who has hit ever...

Re: Cubs Offseason Top Prospects Lists (BA, BP, Sickels, etc)

This is fun: Player A: .273/.388/.382/.770 in AA, 10/7 BB/K 13 games at SS, 3 at 2B, 4 at 3B Player B: .279/.361/.395/.756 in AA, 10/15 BB/K 14 games at SS, 3 at 2B, 3 at 3B One of them is superprospect Gleyber Torres, the other is Cubs farmhand Andrew Ely, who needs to be looked up to double check...

Re: Stock Up/Stock Down

What's the thoughts on Zagunis? He's still walking a horsefeathers load, the Ks are way up but he's nearly equaled his HRs from last year already. Kind of a mixed bag but the power uptick is nice.

Re: The Cardinals

It's a lot easier to probably scout and judge a pitcher is ready from the low levels than it is a hitter. If a pitchers stuff is good, it's good and is probably easier to scout/figure out if it can play at the ML level quicker than moving a hitter up at such a young age/low level. Also their arms a...
