Re: Orioles are shopping Machado and the Cubs are interested per Gordo

The fact that he's going out on such a limb makes me think there might be something to this. To add the specific detail that the Orioles could want the players that mlb.com lists as our top pitching prospects (including "Alberto's") is what makes this rumor pass the smell test to me.

Re: Baez impresses Baez

https://www.lockedoncubs.com/cubs/hey-clint-who-decides-how-to-respect-the-game/ Baez and Contreras don’t play baseball the way Hurdle wants them to, because that’s just ‘not the way we do it here.’ Unfortunately, he’s not alone in that view. St. Louis Cardinals relief pitcher Bud Norris was even l...

Grimm definitely contributed to the NLDS win in 2015.

Re: Offseason Transactions

I don't know anything about his salary (edit: I did know he was on a team-friendly deal. It would have been more accurate to say I have no idea how his salary would affect our LT situation) or injuries, he's just a guy I've really wanted since I found out he existed last year.

Re: Offseason Transactions

Since the Rays seem intent on trading anyone who got an extra base hit for them last year, any chance the Cubs can kick the tires on Ramos or Kiermeier? Kiermeier would probably be pretty pricey, but Ramos would be an upgrade at backup catcher and might not cost much more than money to get. I was w...

In defense of the Padres, Hosmer does seem like the kind of guy who plays for the Padres.

That’s the best part. There are some who are saying six years is too long, which I agree with. Oh, except when you realize he got the total money he was supposed to get for five.

Just think of the 6th year as a $1m team option with a $1m buy out.

The Brewers apparently have the best offer now but it’s going to take a “good amount” to lure him. How are we still at this point????!?!!! Seems the offers are what they are and have to be damn near best and final by now. Make a decision dude. Where did you see that? https://twitter.com/ChiSportUpd...

The only thing this accomplishes to any significant degree is bringing attention to how 2nd rate the Brewers are.

But to be fair, to be SOTMRFIB, you can't really prioritize quantity.
