Re: Kris Bryant is awesome and we were always right to love him

You're talking about the Cardinals, might want to be more specific.

Re: Kris Bryant is awesome and we were always right to love him

Re: Addison Russell

I can see Theo's reasoning for trying to handle this in a way where they at least try to get something of some sort of value for Russell. He could see it as his responsibility to the other players or something. But if Russell ends up actually playing another inning for the Cubs, then they can all go...

Maybe the Yankees think they could fix Chatwood and would be interested in a sucky pitcher swap if we chucked a fistful of hundos at them.

I don't feel like it should be too difficult to get someone who knows what reverse splits are while simultaniously being a cool guy to work with and realizes assult accusations are important, but this is baseball so maybe I'm wrong. I was hoping my suggestion from the game thread would get more tra...

Re: Addison Russell

I'm hoping that he could be included for a closer that is an upcoming FA on a team rebuilding (like Herrera), but I doubt he has enough value for that. It makes a lot more sense to hold onto him and pray that his hitting is affected by his hand injury I was stupid and didn't want them to trade him ...

Re: homophobe (Daniel Murphy), incoming (to the Cubs)

why wouldn't you have bryant at 3B, murphy at 2b, and zobrist in rf? i'm pretty sure murphy can't even throw a ball from 3b to 1b Because I didn't think about it very much. EDIT: Full disclosure: I finished my first draft and realized I didn't have a 2B, so I just threw Zobrist in. so, your first d...

Well he's not the next Mookie Betts, that's for sure. After starting the year with Ozuna, Pham, and Fowler, they're just thrilled to have an outfielder they wouldn't be afraid to have over for dinner.

Criticize it and dismiss it all you want, but the great dark purge seems to have really lifted morale in that clubhouse.

I always fully buy in to relief prospects who put up video game numbers in the low minors and I don't think I've been right yet. Mekkes is the one though.

Re: Minor League Discussion & Boxes, 8-1-18

Andy Weber went 0-5 last night so presumably Cole Roederer will have multiple base hits tonight... And sure enough, Roederer leads off the game with a triple and later scores, then follows that up with a HR! When I was in high school, we played this team in football that had identical twin brothers...

Is there any chance the Cards didn’t call to see if Pham would be enough for Hader? I bet they even offered a package that included Hicks.

If he retires, he forfeits his remaining years, right? Looks that way: Typically, if a player retires 100% voluntarily, his salary will end as soon as he has received the full amount earned. For example, a Major League Baseball player earns his salary during the baseball season (which ends in Septe...

Re: Sources: Cubs have a deal in place for Cole Hamels

Only problem is Montgomery probably can’t maintain a full starter’s workload. 1) he can 2) Darvish still exists 3) once september hits you can limit his workload since the entire iowa shuttle is in the pen 1 and 3) For some reason I thought he was already nearing his career high in IP, but I guess ...

Plus he doesn't have to face the Astros anymore. Going from Astros to Brewers as the best division rival probably cuts 2 runs off his ERA easy.
