Re: The Manny Machado Thread

Apparently late last night the Brewers agreed to add a young stud reliever to their offer. No details yet, but sounds interesting.

Personally, I think 18 is old enough to know that the n word is bad. This is my personal opinion.

I don't see anything on the SB twitter account, but any word on Thomas? Only went 2 innings.

Re: #NotAllPitchers

Junior Guerra to DL due to right forearm injury. He's either dead or the Brewers are just trying to weasel another pen arm for their double header.

Re: General Baseball Chit-Chat Thread

It wouldn’t really affect balls in play, but I do kind of hate shifting. Makes the game more boring and seems like it could be a very simple fix. Just say 3B/SS can’t begin the play right of the 2B bag, 2B can’t begin to the left. And maybe I just feel this way because the Cubs don’t shift as much a...

It will balance out because current trends also show that in 10 years all pitchers will be dead.

Re: The Manny Machado Thread

It seems like whatever dude the Brewers grab off the street to play middle infield for them on a given week ends up with a 1.500 OPS and multiple game-winning HRs, so sure, let them give up their best prospects for Machado. I don’t see how it could make them better.

Re: 2018 All Star Game

Looks like the Orioles had obligatory selections in 2008 (George Sherrill) and 2010 (Ty Wiggington). this must be what it's like to be a fan of another team and read "bryan lahair, 2012 all star" cuz who the horsefeathers is george sherrill? he's one of those randos I actually remember. h...

Re: 2018 All Star Game

It's especially glaring when compared to Trout, Betts, and Judge, which is maybe the best outfield of all time. Slow down there. Many of the All-Star games in the 50’s had an NL outfield of Mays, Aaron, and Musial. I don't care enough to dig into it, but I imagine the seasons Trout, Betts, and Judg...

Re: 2018 All Star Game

That NL outfield...woof.

I mean Harper is awesome but has had a horrible first half. And then a couple of old turds who've had a hot stretch. It's especially glaring when compared to Trout, Betts, and Judge, which is maybe the best outfield of all time.

Re: Minor League Discussion & Boxes, 7-6-18

Sean Rodriguez is playing 3B for the Indy Indians tonight and so far has struck out on 3 pitches and had a soft line drive bounce off his glove and I am having a lot of fun laughing very loudly at him. Add on a throwing error. Best game ever. I'll bet you he's teaching Beating the horsefeathers Out...

I'm bored. Here's the best Cubs season at each position since 2000, by fWAR. C - Geovany Soto (2008): 3.7 fWAR, .285/.364/.504 with 23 HR 1B - Derrek Lee (2005): 7.0 fWAR, .335/.418/.662 with 46 HR and 15 SB 2B - Mark DeRosa (2008): 4.2 fWAR, .285/.376/.481 with 21 HR 3B - Kris Bryant (2016): 7.8 f...

Re: Minor League Discussion & Boxes, 7-3-18

Gotta think Amaya and Hoerner are at the top of any list. I anticipate Hoerner leaping to top 3 by the end of the season, but for now I’d put Amaya, Ademan, Lange, and maybe Alzolay ahead of him. And as far as anticipating end of season, I think Márquez leap frogs even farther than Hoerner if he ke...
