Re: Good riddance

People everywhere are reading too much into the 10 year thing. I think Theo just got tired of his bosses' meddling in Boston. Not saying he won't leave soon, but it'd be due to other factors. Also there's no way he leaves $5+ million on the table for the 2021 season. I don't anticipate big changes ...

Re: Good riddance

the frustrating thing is that they could still easily contend if they'd spend just a little bit and if theo could just find a way to make the offense decent. we already have two controlled TOR pitchers on the roster and that's like the hardest part. Why do people keep pretending spending money equa...

I know this isn't acceptable, but I really wanted the Cubs to tank this sham season so we could have gotten Kumar Rocker.

Re: 2020 Playoff Race

Ouch. The 16-team playoff would be a game-changer for me. Can't say I'd totally stop caring because the team has been part of my life since childhood, but...........I'd stop caring a whole lot.

We sort of have six pitchers batting in the lineup, but agree.

Re: NL DH by 2021?

Hate the DH. I would rather MLB get rid of the pitcher’s hitting spot and just have 8 guys hit. After the first 3 go up anything can happen to the order and frequency of batters each inning thereafter. Edit: I guess I hate it so much I replied twice [emoji23] I actually always thought I'd hate it, ...

Re: 2020 Trade Deadline Targets/Rumors

https://twitter.com/Joelsherman1/status/1300499131601956865?s=19 Doubt we're on him now, but obviously good to have him available in the offseason. Although if they're not planning to pick up his very reasonable $12.5M option that's ominous as hell for this winter. Have to imagine if they trade him...

Re: 2020 Trade Deadline Targets/Rumors

Gallo is behind only Lindor on rumored availables Theo should not lose on. I'm not sure how available he actually is with the Rangers opening a new stadium funded with some $600+ million in taxpayer dollars, but that would be entertaining and impactful Educate me on this one. This is like the exact...

Re: Kris Bryant is awesome and we were always right to love him

Yeah, I’d still give him a 6-8 year deal for 150-190 in a second and he should be the guy they extend out of any of outside of Rizzo (who really won’t cost much anyways). I wouldn't be even close to that -- I wouldn't want to make an offer because it would be insulting - but at least by all account...

Re: Kris Bryant is awesome and we were always right to love him

Love the dude. Hell of a player. Can't stay healthy anymore. Even when he plays, he seems to be fighting off a nagging injury that has people talking about how it's impacting his game. I don't believe he's ever going to really be healthy again. I envision his body continuing to break down. Therefor...

Re: Kris Bryant is awesome and we were always right to love him

What's this the fourth consecutive season mired by injury for Bryant? I can't see his trade value being high enough to command extraordinary talent in return. What team is going to give up its top prospect(s) on the chance of them getting a healthy Bryant? I would also think any leverage he had in ...

Re: 2019-20 Offseason Rumors/General Chit-Chat

This post is only being written for myself so I have somewhere to look back and see how wrong I was. Just pretend I'm talking to myself here. I'd trade Bryant to the Braves for a package that includes Max Fried. I like his ability and pedigree and having him locked up for the next five seasons. A Q...

Is it fair to say this guy has been an average or below average pitcher each season of his career except for one good year? If it's not, I'll easily take the statement back.

Re: Game Off (MLB suspended indefinitely)

Yeah, I'm pretty confident this was leaked to Passan by Scott Boras. He is a fan of this. Not only is it probably going to be too dangerous, not only will it be difficult to coordinate this all, but if Covid doesn't make some of the players sick, playing in 110-degrees every day for two or three mon...

Re: Game Off (MLB suspended indefinitely)

I welcome baseball being back because it will mean our country, hopefully, has turned the corner. But is it OK that I won't care about what happens this season because it will sort of be a sham one? I just won't really recognize the World Series winner the way I normally would. Please feel free to t...

Re: Kipnis to Cubs Minor League/NRI Contract

Honestly, if you give me 10 minutes to go back and watch highlights...give me Game 6 against the Dodgers every day. Outside of the fact that it ended with Chapman on the mound, it's pretty much perfect. My favorite thing (other than the obvious WS stuff) to watch from that run is the comeback in SF...

Yeahno. This actually got trending on Twitter last night, and actual reporters addressed it not being real. I've really started to worry about the serious gullibility of people in our society. Although, based on current world events, I guess i should not be. For every 20 MLBIntel’s there’s a WetBut...
