Re: I like Gold Gloves and I cannot lie: the Jason Heyward thread

I hope he doesn't opt out on us. Call me crazy but I still hope he opts out just because I think the last few yrs are gonna be ugly and the defense will be in decline. Also, we could allocate that money somewhere else to someone better (probably). The fascinating thing about his 8-year contract is ...

I'm excited because the upside is that of a legit starter. The downside is the price of a scrub.

Dex Fan Forever. cut to the playoffs this year when dex hits a gapper and rounds the bases, bat still in hand, knee capping Rizzo, Russell, and Bryant Can't see the Cardinals trading him in the first few...

Right? Especially since they currently have 4 in the first 105 or so. So let them utilize all four and try to rebuild the system a little bit rather than just use one for a position that isn't even a need while also spending $18 million to do it. They can keep the pick and utilize it, or they can g...

The Cubs seem pretty good at drafting, so I'd rather keep the pick than use it to sign him for one year when the offense should be potent regardless.

Would rather spend the money on Ross and Holland and take a chance.

After reading some of the most recent posts, I don't feel so bad now that I still get anxious just thinking about the final innings, let alone watching them. Feels tremendous that we won that. A loss would have been the perfect narrative for Cubs haters or story tellers, about how Joe Maddon's manag...

Are you trying to tell me that you think KB, Russell, and Schwarber are going to get 12, 6, and 6 million respectively in arbitration their first year? No way that happens. Just for some additional context, Ryan Howard's $10 million is the record for first year arbitration. I could see Boras asking...

That Maddon interview was a long interview, and he only acknowledged two mistakes. He didn't have a reliever up in game 6 in case the Cubs pushed the lead from 5 to even more. Am I remembering correctly that even after they took the big lead, the Cubs STILL didn't get somebody up right away? And I ...

What about resigning Travis Wood he checks off all the boxes and Joe clearly loves Travis. Although he also i...
