Cameo - Did you know about this???

I just found out about this today Cameo If you've ever been itching to talk to Boston Rob from Survivor or find out where Steve Garvey's best pick up spots were or that dude at the third table 2 from the back on the 32nd episode of Seinfeld...well here you go. Bunch of Cubs on here Sandberg, Dawson,...

Sir Sean Sings

This is an underrated movie and I believe it was the first movie I ever saw on a big screen at a local drive-in (decades are the initial release). It's a Disney movie but there are a couple of pretty scary scenes in it.

Re: General Cubs Chit-Chat

Former Cub Jay Johnstone passed away over the weekend from complications due to COVID. He was on the Cubs when I first began watching baseball in '82. The OF was a noted prankster, wrote a few books about his playing days and appeared in The Naked Gun with Leslie Nielsen. He and Jerry Reuss dressed ...

Re: The Shift

Expecting guys who have been playing pro ball for years and years to "just change" isn't realistic; it's already far too late for most of them to change their hitting approach enough to account for such a drastic and effective defensive switch. Well virtually every player has had to make ...

Re: The Shift

It drives me crazy that there doesn't seem to be more of an effort to hit against the shift - maybe there has been - I primarily watch Cubs games; so maybe there's more of it going on than I'm seeing. If the shift is going to stay more players have to learn how to do it - the shift is used because i...

Gonna disagree that being social with someone is as bad as having sex with them on the regular.

When they're a terrible person, sure it is.

Isn't it better if they're a terrible person? :dontknow:

https://twitter.com/Cubs/status/1277394046479216643?s=20 Two things I notice right away. 1. Teams can take up to 60 players but the Cubs are going with only 50 to start. 2. No Brandon Morrow. I believe most teams are under the 60? You can add a player without having to expose another to waivers. Mo...

https://twitter.com/passonjim/status/1274824479898664961?s=21 That’s...really impressive. For those that don’t want to do the math, this goes back to 1902. What’s as odd is that they only won 2 titles and reached only a handful of playoff appearances for 118 years of that stretch. Karma's a b1tch.

Re: 80 game season with expanded playoffs, starting in July

I actually am with the owners in just one very specific respect - I don't see the draw in trying to cram in 114 games and extending the regular season another month past when it usually ends. Hopefully it lands in the 75-80 range with the full prorated salaries. I think they have all but admitted t...

Yeah, Uncut Gems... anybody see that coming? I was personally floored. Who would have guessed that the Joker's greatest crime would turn out to be shamelessly stealing Adam Sandler's Oscar? The Oscar he wasn’t even nominated for? Yeah, I liked the movie and thought Sandler was good but certainly do...

Re: General Cubs Chit-Chat

Latest Forbes report says Cubs are worth $3.2 Billion, not a bad return on spending $845 million in 2009. So why did we have to sit out this offseason free agency? There are many ways to answer your question, but the $3.2B figure isn't the best. It's not a "return," it's a valuation. A si...
