Re: College Football - Week 7 (Oct. 17)

OMC, game on tomorrow. Not saying Arkansas will win, but they are worlds better than recent years. Thank god. It was pretty brutal watching them the past couple years. One of the worst prepared teams I’ve ever seen. Week after week they couldn’t even run something as basic as a punt correctly. Purd...

Re: Golf thread

One of the benefits of being stuck at home during Covid is that I've had the chance to really work on approach shots from 100 yards in since I live on a farm and have that kind of room. I've been playing the best golf of my life. I broke 80 for the first time since I started playing again ( 4 years...

Just give it up. Keep that stat forever and brag how you never missed a fairway in your life. It'll only go downhill now if you keep playing.

Ok. I know umps are terrible and they do miss calls down the pipe every once in a while over the whole 162 games season, but is it me or it's on a new whole level this year?

Re: Golf thread

Irons are steel, driver and hybrids are graphite, everything is standard stiffness. I haven’t checked since overhauling my swing, but a few weeks ago my club speed was 80-90 mph, nothing too explosive Ok. The shafts should be fine, but you're right there where you might need a stiffer or a heavier ...

(shrugs) 3-4 irons are my best clubs. Everyone is different. But yeah, you might have been more to the point with shaft types. He might just do much better with firmer shafts if his hybrids are really flexy. Yeah. Everyone is different. My weakness is my 4 iron. That's my thinking that the shafts &...

Re: Golf thread

Ok. Regarding the shafts, I was curious on if they were regular or stiff, graphite or steel, etc. Just a little tip that has helped me in the short game (50-100 yards) is I use half to 3/4 swing on my PW and UW (50°) instead of trying to full swing on my 54 and 58. Seems like I cut down my misses (w...

Kid’s mom is in town next week so I get a few days of free time, have my first tee times booked. Had my best range session to date. Kyle... can you tell me what kind of shafts you have in your golf set? Just curious to see what's in your driver/3 wood/4 and 5 hybrid compared to your irons and wedges.

Should have seen this coming. Finally got to the range for the first time this week. After a month of being able to hit driver and hybrid but having no clue how to hit an iron, I finally fixed my iron swing and they felt great today. And it ruined my hybrid and driver swing. All that work on chippi...

9 holes executive courses are a great way to start off on what it's like being on a course. Sure, it can be repetitive yardage wise with all those par 3s, but you'll get the experience of bunkers, trees, water (if there is any). You'll actually learn about shot placement, what club to hit at a certa...

Taylormade, Ping, Titleist, Mizuno, Callaway, Cobra all would be good choices. Regular flex in steel shaft for irons probably would suit you just fine for now unless you swing really HARD. For example, I have extra stiff graphite shaft in my driver and 1 hybrid, but stiff steel shaft in my irons. I ...

Jake’s run is still horsefeathering insane. Don’t think we’ll ever get that feeling again where you know pitcher is going 7+ and if the offense gets to 2-3 runs we are going to win.
