Re: Golf thread

9 holes executive courses are a great way to start off on what it's like being on a course. Sure, it can be repetitive yardage wise with all those par 3s, but you'll get the experience of bunkers, trees, water (if there is any). You'll actually learn about shot placement, what club to hit at a certa...

Re: Golf thread

Taylormade, Ping, Titleist, Mizuno, Callaway, Cobra all would be good choices. Regular flex in steel shaft for irons probably would suit you just fine for now unless you swing really HARD. For example, I have extra stiff graphite shaft in my driver and 1 hybrid, but stiff steel shaft in my irons. I ...

Re: Golf thread

I know that golf can be fun for everything from “foursome of buddies day-drinking who happen to be hitting balls” through “obsessive competitive guy who thinks he might get through the Monday mini-tour qualifier next month with some luck.” For me, I am self-competitive and want to do my best, and I...

Re: On Bended Knee - The Rizzo Thread

Jake’s run is still horsefeathering insane. Don’t think we’ll ever get that feeling again where you know pitcher is going 7+ and if the offense gets to 2-3 runs we are going to win. I remember games we scored 1 in the first he started and it was like “well this is over.” One of those games was the ...

Re: Golf thread

After getting a hitting mat, a $50 driver off amazon, and hitting into a blanket in my backyard enough to feel confident I wouldn't send the club flying out of my hand or hit the ground 2 feet behind the ball, I went to the driving range today for the first time. It went a lot better than I expecte...

Re: Golf thread

I am starting to learn to golf. It is difficult, in case anyone didn't know. I grew up playing baseball only in summers, think I took one golf lesson when I was like 10. Started playing a little in college and after but still played softball mostly in summers until I was ~25 (32 now). Started takin...

Moderates exist. It's "undecided voters" that don't exist. Or, more generally, "people who sometimes vote R and sometimes vote D, depending on blah blah blah". I don't know a single person who does that, and neither does anyone else It's rare, but my parents are in that group. B...

Re: NBA 2019-20 Season Thread

Gonna be soooooo great when the Warriors rest up from March to October, get 100% healthy, get the #1 pick and resume their dynasty with only a short weird season with a tainted championship bridging the 2 eras This is going to be arguably the worst draft of all time at least. There’s so little tale...

https://twitter.com/LasVegasLocally/status/1255589609636937730?s=20 Season and then playoffs I'm assuming? I'm sure they're going to have a week or 2 of practice to get back in game shape. They won't get done til August. Maybe even Sept. Draft/FA like 2 days after Finals end then training camp/pre ...

Re: Chicago Bears offseason

we dont need a safety You're comfortable with Bush starting? I don't mind him starting to see what we got, but I'm not opposed to bring in competition for that spot. Plus we're REALLY thin on depth if Bush or Jackson gets hurt. I would like to have that capable backup as insurance whether it's Bush...

The mother horsefeathering Lakers got a PPP loan. Meanwhile, I'm still waiting on further word and have received no funding. The horsefeathering Lakers. They did, but they also gave it back from what I've read. It's just amazing how easy all these big/profitable/etc. companies are able to apply/acc...

Last I saw, Eric Berry was still a free agent. He took a whole year off to nurse his injuries. Fresh legs. He hasn't played more than 2 games in a season since 2016 due to his Achilles injury and then having a bunch of setbacks from that injury. He'll also be 32 sometime this year. With that type o...

Re: Chicago Bears offseason

Neither of you make any sense. He's a B- player, but the pick is a failure? WTF does that even mean? I understand that he was a top 10 pick and should have an A player. But him being a failed pick because he's a B- instead of an A is some Ricky Bobby "if ya ain't first ya last" type of BS...

what the hell is a C then?

A- HOF
B- Multiple All Pros
C- Multiple Pro Bowls
D- Multiple years of being top 10 at a position
F- Average starter or worse

is what I'm guessing his grade scale.

Sounds like we still have the other 5th Rd pick. Traded next year's 4th for this pick. I’ll take it. We have a bunch of picks next year I believe Edit: though I guess the value chart shows that the bears lost the trade Nope. We just have rd 1-3,5,6 pick for next years draft. We should be getting so...

Draft grades are meaningless so I should probably stop this post now but since I know little about prospects I looked at a few. Everyone is panning the Kmet pick and loving the Johnson pick. Re: CDC Info on COVID-19 (Corona virus)

In May of 2009 pharmaceutical companies started making a H1N1 vaccine. By November it was being administered. By “making a vaccine,” does it mean all the initial testing was completed and they moved to the manufacturing side or did they just make the H1N1 vaccine from beginning to end a lot faster?...
