Re: Week 2: NY Giants @ Chicago BEARS Home Opener

Blitzing with success certainly beefs up your tackles for loss and sack rates. Maybe I just liked Fangio's scheme better as it did seem to disrupt the opposing QB's rhythm and creating more turnovers. Detroit definitely has an explosive offense, even if they were playing without Golladay. Giants lo...

Ouch. He’s pretty much done. https://twitter.com/espnstatsinfo/status/1308249783157522432?s=21 And Brady would have been there if Brees hadn't decided to come back. I know they love him there, (and Brady had some issues week 1) but man they have to be pissed if he really is done and could have had ...

Re: NFL Week 1

I'll keep insisting Tunsil is the Texans' best player and the best OT in the league until it's mainstream or probably that Becton guy in NY breaks out, whichever is first. Looks like he's really hit his stride in this league and it even seems like the Texans' offense works more around him than Wats...

Re: Chicago Bears offseason

Bears pundit twitter slowly coming to terms with the fact that the guy who lost jobs to Keenum and Minshew isn’t a slam dunk to beat out a still-crappy Trubisky. The beat writers are saying that Nagy won't overdo it with Trubisky praise, or pump him up. I'm convinced that it's because Mitch looked ...

Re: Golf thread

And in that vein, shorten your swing. Do what you think is 75% of your swing, it's probably actually how long your swing should be. Piling on here. Figured that out around my 5th round this year when I realized that taking my 6 iron and just trying to punch out of the woods was giving me my best co...

I suppose it's partly due to Corona, but also due to my buddies who I do a weekend trip with every year talking about making next year a golf trip, has me interested in picking up golf. The last few pages of this have been gold. Thanks for sharing your journey Kyle. I'll be sure to post my personal...

Re: Golf thread

I do agree on hitting every putt - something about finishing and when you do play more "seriously," you'll feel a lot less pressure if you're used to finishing out. This exactly. When I first played in a city tournament I missed several short putts due to nerves and not having tapped them...

Re: Golf thread

Nobody cares alert: update on my learning to golf phase I’m going to the practice range a couple of times a week now, still having fun. I usually have one or two swing fixes I want to implement each time, and I have evolved from “idiot who looks like he has never held a club before” to “idiot who i...

Re: Chicago Bears offseason

So Ginn, Wims, and Ridley likely competing for 2 spots, though you could keep 7 WR if the young guys force the issue, or if they're just fully treating Patterson as RB/returner. I wondered if this is part of the strategy at RB, not that I really want it to be. Here's a question: Having declined the...

Re: Chicago Bears offseason

Ifedi's deal is confirmed to be the veteran salary benefit, so it won't count in the comp formula. Right now OTCs pick cancellation chart projects 3 6ths and 1 7th for the Bears next year. KPLs deal. Could be borderline 6th though. https://overthecap.com/compensatory-draft-picks-cancellation-chart/...

Re: Chicago Bears offseason

I'm kind of expecting him to not count against the comp formula. They really don't have much cap space to be offering deals above the comp line. Hope you're right. The Over the Cap guy on Twitter predicted he would cancel out a pick, we'll see... Ifedi's deal is confirmed to be the veteran salary b...

Re: Chicago Bears offseason

Just wait for 2021. They could end up with as many as 4 comp picks, all in the 6th round! That would be like 4 late round picks in a 12-15 pick spread. I think Ifedi is going to wipe out their highest 6th round comp pick, so likely two 6ths and one 7th Still nice to accumulate some picks I'm kind o...

PFF’s biggest draft busts since 2014. Ryan Pace has made 4 first round picks as GM. Guess how many are on this list of 10?

Re: Chicago Bears offseason

So working from home has given me time to look at the Bears current roster and how things stack up at the moment: Offense (24) QB - 2 - Foles, Trubisky RB - 4 - Montgomery, Cohen, ______, Nall TE - 4 - Graham, Burton, ______, Harris WR - 6 - Robinson, Miller, Patterson, Wins, Ridley, ______ OL - 8 -...

That play doesn't stand alone. it happened over and over again. He doesn't see the entire field. He can't anticipate an open receiver. He can't see an open receiver. He can't hit an open receiver. It's why defenses challenge him to throw deep and stuff the line. I'm going to guess that he makes a l...

Re: Chicago Bears offseason

Lots of Dalton, Foles, Newton talk, but I'm not really crazy about trading assets for those guys. Definitely not at their salaries, any of those guys need to be restructured. And the FA market dried up pretty quick. Really want nothing to do with Jameis Winston, who is the best FA QB left. This is ...

Re: Chicago Bears offseason

So by cutting Floyd and signing Quinn, I would assume they saved the necessary extra money to get the QB they want once they extend ARob? Crafty move, I suppose. The Graham signing seems a bit desperation move to me still though. Quinn is gauranteed 30MM, so it's probably over three years, maybe a ...

Yea, thats ....less then optimal. Hope he’s cheap What is less than optimal? I would have preferred Kwitkowski unless he was just too expensive Maybe the expectation is that Kwitkowski nets a comp pick - I've read that he's being looked at as a starter by teams in FA. Trevathan costs them nothing i...

Anyone been to Dicks for swing analysis? I was looking for club fitting places near Williamsburg, VA but the intra webs suggested Dicks was closer to my actual location. I'm not looking to invest in a custom made set, I just want to know if I'd be better off with a different flex on my irons. My ad...
