Re: Minor League Discussion & Boxes, 4-16-19

Jonathan Sierra’s 1/3 with a double. He’s hitting .300 with a <10% K rate which would be most cool if there was any power behind it. The double is his second XBH of the season, also a double While no one’s really breaking out in a big way it seems Ademan, Sierra, and Velazquez are holding up in ful...

Re: Minor League Discussion & Boxes, 4-15-19

Yeah, the potential Eugene rotation of Yovanny Cruz (19), Jeremiah Estrada (20), Danis Correa (19), Kohl Franklin (19) and Yunior Perez (20) looks to be a fun one to follow. For sure. I never get too excited about pitching prospects until they are in AA, but it never hurts to have dudes in the lowe...

BA has a mock draft out: 27 Carter Stewart Eastern Florida JC RHP Notes: A college hitter, like Louisville first baseman Logan Wyatt or Texas A&M shortstop Braden Shewmake, could make some sense here considering Chicago’s success in that territory, but they’ve also been inclined to go after JuC...

Re: 2019 Draft Thread

Wilson’s 30 Ks translates to an 18.6% K rate . He’s hitting .350/.429/.650 with 9 HRs in 160 PAs, career slash of .314/.389/.570 and 17% K rate Exactly. That's higher than you want to see from a seasoned college hitter. Doesn't bode well as he moves up the ladder. I'm not sure where I saw it (or if...

Re: 2019 Draft Thread

So I decided to do a mock draft of my own. I want to make one before the guys over at Fangraphs come out with theirs. Let's see how close I can get. Not a lot of pitchers in this mock draft. My 2019 MLB Mock Draft v1.0: 1. Baltimore Orioles - C Adley Rutschman (this one is pretty much a lock) 2. KC...

Re: Minor League Discussion & Boxes, 4-10-19

Really early game for MB today. Lange gets blown up again before getting ejected in the 2nd. His line:

1.1 IP, 2 H, 4 ER, 2 BBs, 0 Ks, 1 HBP.

I hate that effing 2017 draft.

Re: Minor League Discussion & Boxes, 4-9-19

Very intrigued by the Bryan Smith write up on Marquez over at BN. He's saying that Marquez is throwing plenty of 2-seamers, which are obviously the lower velocity ones. Something to monitor going forward. That's about as good of a first full season start as you could hope for in chilly weather and h...

Really kicking myself right about now for now renewing milb.tv this year. Hudson had 3 K's in the 1st (also gave up a single and RBI double) and I would like to see if he's seen any gains on the fastball.

Marquez might be behind schedule, but did make the SB roster. Roederer also made the squad. https://twitter.com/sbcubs/status/1112124248766717952?s=21 But Yovanny Cruz didn’t. Weird.
