Re: Is Jason Heyward Fixed?

I've also noticed that he's moved back up closer to the plate -- almost immediately after I wrote that article. Remember from the article, he slugged .293 on pitches on the inner third last year, thanks to an 82.5 mph average exit velocity. At the time of the article, he was slugging .643 on such pi...

.163/.236/.245 since I wrote this.

I'll remember to include "Somehow" next time.

Re: Orioles are shopping Machado and the Cubs are interested per Gordo

The only reason I haven't completely lost my mind is because I know Theo isn't as dumb as these people. Theo is very smart, but he's also a risk-taker. I'm sure he's thinking about some way to fleece Baltimore again lol. Oh for sure. He's going to be in on Machado, as he should be. But I know he wo...

Re: Orioles are shopping Machado and the Cubs are interested per Gordo

Part of the narrative with the flood of Machado articles yesterday is the Cubs offense is too boom or bust. Which, I don't know if there's any information or metrics out there that are readily available that measures it but if I had to guess the Cubs offense is no more boom or busty than any other ...

Re: General Cubs Chit-Chat

As the Cubs' offense continues to put up numbers unmatched by any other team and the pitching finally starts to get in a groove, what better time for this off-day doomsday article I've had in the bank for 18 months?

Depending on if you prefer UZR or DRS, Addison Russell is on pace for somewhere around 4.5-5.5 WAR.

Re: General Baseball Chit-Chat Thread

Just so I'm on record somewhere with it: All of the players we've traded away that everyone has been freaking out about... they all suck. Jorge is living off of a .400 BABIP. He's a bad base runner and a horrible defender. His BB/K rate is a little out of whack. He's not seeing many pitches at all i...

Kept Cabrera on my roster even though he's butt and has been injured for two weeks. Planned it perfectly by being lazy and waiting until Pollock coincidentally got hurt to make a move.

After all these years, all the discussion, all the consternation, all the top-10-round picks, all the bullpen conversions, all the flame-outs, all the injuries... Duane Underwood is going to be the one Theo draft pick that sticks in our rotation.

Re: #NotAllPitchers

They could be toying with the 10-day DL, too, though.

But if you head over to Mets Refugees, I'm sure they've heard something similar about 30 times. Lat strains are often thought to be minor when that turns out not to be the case, and those things can linger, too.
