Re: Video Game Thread

Any Witcher fans here? CDProjektRed just put their standalone card game, Gwent, into open beta a week or two ago. It's pretty good, like a more complex Hearthstone.

I loved Gwent as a mini-game in the Witcher games, and this standalone title is successfully scratching the same itch.

Re: Politics & Current Events

What's the point of oversight committees and hearings if everyone and anyone can just refuse to answer questions?

Asking seriously, I know this is nothing new.

Re: Video Game Thread

The mass effect trilogy is great. Mass effect 2 is one of my favorite games ever. I didn't HATE the ending in 3, but it wasn't great. The first game feels pretty dated in comparison to the other two, but some people enjoy the tedious nature of exploring barren planets in the mako, and it's certainly...

Re: Stanley Cup Playoffs

Eh, if they never do meet in the SCF then they'll be looked back on as "the teams of the decade" plural rather than singular.

Unless one of them just rattles off several Cups before their current prime guys start getting phased out.

Re: Stanley Cup Playoffs

Indeed, that game was less fun to watch for me than the Cubs are right now. 0 shots in 37 minutes starting at the end of the 1st period for the Pens. Then they get 2 shots off late in the 3rd (1 on an empty net) and score 2 goals. Nashville's opening goal being overturned, Bonino's fluke deflection ...

Re: Stanley Cup Playoffs

Hahaha I was wondering anyone would catch that. The truth is my I rarely watch Eastern conference hockey, and it's Ryan Kesler I dislike. So, I got confused and couldn't remember when the Pens traded the ducks for him. I was already digging a hole, so I thought I'd go for China with the Madison dig...

I peruse this forum equally on my phone and on my pc. When I'm on my phone I use tapatalk. It's pretty easy to just switch off the tapatalk signature, and personally it annoys me when I see it on my own posts.

Javy forever. This exciting young guy was on the team that finally did it, keep him around til he is 60. He completely won me over last year mid-late in the year when he hit a big moment late game HR. Before he hit it I said to my tv, "Javy if you do it you're my new favorite!" He did it, ...

Re: This is the thread where we talk about how awesome Kris Bryant is

Reminds me of Lebron, in the sense that he is so SO good so consistently that it becomes ho-hum to watch him perform like an MVP and you only really take note if something is going poorly.

It's an absolutely gorgeous day here in Frederick. I just got off work so I'm certainly not gonna make the first of the Pelicans' doubleheader, but I'm thinking about going to game 2.

It's only debatable because Eloy is AWOL.

Re: Stanley Cup Playoffs

They rode him to one Stanley Cup forever ago, and Fleury has always struck me as being a guy whose performance issues after that were mental in nature.

Maybe having the job thrust upon him was a good thing, didn't have time to psyche himself out.

Man it would be cool if Butler stays sharp at AAA and could be poised as a viable, desirable option for the Cubs to get on a decent mid-level contract for the next few years.

I saw Burks twice last year. Seemed pretty solid, hit the ball well and made a few decent plays in the outfield.

Re: Stanley Cup Playoffs

The Pens are looking like they might have gotten hot at the right time again. I think the Jackets can win 1 here, but I can't see them taking this series much further than 5. Pretty excited about them playing either the Caps or the Leafs in the next round. I'll probably go to one of the games in DC ...

Re: Starling Marte suspended 80 games for PEDs

Needles are probably a lot harder to rationalize to oneself than a handful of pills.

But who am I kidding, these guys (the type to take PED's) don't care enough to have to rationalize anything to themselves.
