Re: THE Bryce Harper in 2018 Thread

Heck, if I'm being fair ... I'm not so sure the Cubs future is necessarily better than the Nationals. I really love Soto, and a core of Soto/Robles/Turner/Rendon plus Scherzer/Strasburg in the short term, and an ownership that you know will spend ... is very, very tantalizing. Sure, KB/Rizzo/Contre...

Re: General Cubs Chit-Chat

Top 3 for us without looking has gotta be KB. Javy, and the third one I would honestly guess Schwarber.

Time to go check.

Edit: from what I see, replace Javy with Willson and you have your 1-2-3.

Still, our position player depth is silly.

Never heard of this stat but it says it has to do with Hall of Fame worthiness and Molina is currently just barely outpacing that surefire second ballot HoFer Russell Martin. https://www.baseball-reference.com/leaders/jaws_C.shtml But apparently that only takes offensive value into consideration? Re: Shohei Ohtani Signs with the Angels

You don't understand, Ohtani had the gall to spurn the best team in baseball. They're just flabbergasted and struggling to express it. The only possible reason he would pick another team has to be due to the DH. Nobody in their right mind would choose not to play for the Doyers.

It's a question, the current answer is neither.

But if they went head to head for a series that gave one them their 4th of the era it could change the answer, no?

Re: 2017-2018 Blackhawks

Yeah the pens have been a pretty inconsistent team this season too. They seem to have figured some things out since the all-star break though. Been scoring a lot of goals and winning more. They were like 5th or 6th in the Metropolitan a week or two ago and now they're 2nd. Still really wanna see a P...

Re: 2017-2018 Blackhawks

I'm biased, but I think that Crosby-Malkin-Letang is a better core to build around than Toews-Kane-Keith/Seabrook.

I've never been very high on Toews though. I think it would take an unbelievable overhaul to get another Cup in this window for the Hawks.

How stupid would it be if the only reason he hasn't just signed with the cubs yet is that he is waiting to meet with the twins, who apparently are the toughest people on the planet to schedule a meeting with.

Dr. Larry Nassar had a prominent position within MSU atheletics and he was also in charge of trainers for US gymnastics and used his position to sexually assault girls at both. A bunch of people at MSU seem to have had knowledge of the situation but tried to cover it up. He got sentenced in the past...

To be perfectly honest they don't seem very delusional as a whole to me. They're seeing things through brewer-tainted glasses just like we are with the cubs. Most of that chunk there was pretty reasonable and thought out. Even the parts where they were discussing their hopes to catch the Cubs were p...

I used to get shin splints in high school during football 3-a-days at the start of the season in the summer. The way the trainers back then explained it to me was that shin splints are a result of running on hard surfaces without the proper footwear. Apparantly since it was summertime the ground ben...

Not gonna defend the ref, that was absolutely terrible.

I wonder what the player said to make the official see red to the point of issuing an ejection though. I'm sure he didn't eject him just for the physical contact there.
