Re: Politics & Current Events

Regardless of the AG, wouldnt firing Mueller still be a disastrous move for Trump, similar to Nixon firing the special investigator during Watergate? (not to mention Nixon basically forcing the current AG to resign before the firing) As with so may things at this level, so much of it comes down to ...

Re: Politics & Current Events

I tend to agree.. the current state of affairs in this country are a bonfire born of stupidity, hatred, and bigotry. For most of my young life it seemed to me as if things were moving in a more positive direction. But the ascension of Trump and the preceding/concurrent divergance from any sort of co...

Re: 2019 Cubs schedule

As far as being cocky is concerned, to be perfectly honest, I bet the Cubs go horsefeathering off next season. This year the wheels fell off, so javy just picked the cart up and carried it himself and they won 95 games. However for the first time in four seasons they're off golfing before the end of...

Re: Why is there a topic that is 206 pages long

I like having specialized threads for things that merit having their own thread. Having a thread called "General Cubs Chit-Chat" for random discussion about the Cubs seems good, and it makes sense that that one would naturally turn into a megathread. The trick if you're getting into a mega...

Re: David Bote is a Golden God and Deserves His Own Thread

I will never forget where I was when Willson debuted with his first pitch dong to center against the Pirates. I yelled really really loud even though I was at a friend's place and his parents were sleeping. Then I came on here and typed in all caps that Theo wasn't giving us waves of players, but ra...

Re: Josh Hader

What in the hell? I stopped watching the game cause I had to go pick someone up from the airport. This is so random, absolutely not what I expected to see coming on here after the game. I do think it's ironic that Hader has been touted all year as this elite guy who is young and look he has long hai...

So after the Cubs game tomorrow my family surprised me with tickets to Hamilton. I never thought I'd see it, but I'm thrilled that I did.

What a show, King George cracked me the hell up.

Way back in 2015 I suggested either he or Castro had to go.

They made the right choice, and I haven't suggested moving Javy since.

meh, fandom is rooting for a specific set of laundry and the athletic acts displayed upon the field of play. its just gravy when a player actually turns out to be a fun/good person.

Re: RIP Anthony Bourdain

This one is particularly difficult to swallow, I think, because for anybody who was inclined to enjoy the entertainment Bourdain produced, it took about 5 minutes before you felt like he was your cool ass, globe-trotting, cuisine loving, rough around the edges but absolutely endearing uncle. Such an...

Re: 2017-2018 NHL season

Living in Maryland, I kind of enjoy their suffering. On the other hand, The Caps winning the Cup will really annoy Pens fans so either way I'm good. Most Pens fans will probably be annoyed by it, yeah. I don't care about the Caps winning it really, they're the team that knocked us out so its better...

The meme is gonna be the one with him holding his hands out and grimacing at JR.

The better picture is the one from behind lebron with him standing and pointing towards the basket and JR dribbling at him like a dumbfounded puppy.

I'm gonna go against the grain and predict you're actually a college student at Michigan State this time around. It's gonna be pretty boring, probably. Do you get to kill Larry Nassar? Could be worth it then. You know, I read the Michigan State comment and really thought about replying something wi...

Re: THE Bryce Harper in 2018 Thread

Heck, if I'm being fair ... I'm not so sure the Cubs future is necessarily better than the Nationals. I really love Soto, and a core of Soto/Robles/Turner/Rendon plus Scherzer/Strasburg in the short term, and an ownership that you know will spend ... is very, very tantalizing. Sure, KB/Rizzo/Contre...
