Re: Cubs sign Jason Adam

I feel pretty decent about the pen next year. I would be pretty fired up about this team in general had they signed a good leadoff/CF option and/or someone good to take Hamels spot on the rotation.

Re: 2019-20 Offseason Rumors/General Chit-Chat

I could see Arenado using his opt out if the Cardinals don't quickly put a great team around him.

Also he's not the same player away from Coors.

Wishful thinking I suppose but I already think the Cubs are looking at another 3rd place finish so whatever.

Re: Politics & Current Events

Such bravery. Glad to see Trump declare his unyielding support for the people of Iran. The same people he and Goebbels-lite, Stephen Miller, placed on the travel ban the first day of his presidency. https://twitter.com/LizSly/status/1216138403118551041 I agree 100%. Still, you have to see civil upr...

Re: The Ricketts family sucks in all kinds of ways

This has to be a giant social experiment to see how quickly Cubs fans can hate the owners who brought them their much longed for World Series title. Fortunately in this day and age this bit of compartmentalization is a snap. I have no problem loving the "Institution" of the Cubs and hatin...

Re: Politics & Current Events

It's going to come down to Biden, Sanders and either Warren or Klobuchar. I really, really wish Sanders health would worsen and he would bow out gracefully. He's and his supporters are going to horsefeathers everything up, again. BOOOOOO. And only sickos pin 2016 on Bernie, Hillary ran a horsefeath...

The Cubs are doing a solid impression of the Hawks trajectory, minus two championships.

The highlight of my sports year was the 6-7 Illini Football team.

Not in trumpland.

Eventually, it will be.

Unless the actual fighting lands in their lap, I bet a lot of these mfers love going to war again. More dead brown people is the only consequence that matters.

He might be Jon Jay (or worse) but this is the attainable/reasonably priced FA I wanted this offseason. So tired of the revolving door at leadoff and CF. We've never replaced what Fowler gave us in 15/16. Just someone to get on base at a good clip would be huge. What a BS offseason this is. Just a ...

Re: 2019-20 Offseason Rumors/General Chit-Chat

The White Sox have been busy this offseason. Jerry finally spent a little bit of dough, but they still seem like a fringe WC team to me. Not a huge fan of Anderson, Madrigal or Eloy really. Anderson had a fantastic season last year, but seems to be reasonably adequate if he does come back to earth....

John Frusciante has returned to the board favorite RHCP.

The man is a guitar legend and I can't wait to hear what tasty riffs he has in store for us.

Re: Politics & Current Events

For the life of me, I cannot understand the voters who support Trump. I think it goes beyond banal racism and triggering the libs. It's some sort of sickness that has affected our nation. I know some people who just don't pay attention to politics whatsoever and just are happy their 401ks are doing...

That's just silly. Eh, he's mostly right. Cut it to this... Biden would be such a gift to the post-Trump GOP. They'd just kick him around for 4 years while regrouping behind a new monster. He won't hold anyone accountable, he actually believes their civility [expletive]! ...and, sadly, I think it's...

Well, barring him dropping dead or realizing he should drop out, Biden's gonna win the nod because Warren and Sanders are just cannibalizing each other's support. Yeah, it's basically infuriating. I am still hopefully that one of them can pull it off, though. Biden would be such a gift to the post-...

There isn't a good 2020 candidate though. The only one who is authentic is a late 70s socialist. Well yeah, and maybe Yang. But as far as the impeachment thing goes I think they're doing the right thing. Impeachment isn't about politics, it's about trying to preserve what little fibers remain of th...
