Re: 2019 Actual MLB Draft Day(s) Thread

With Strumpf getting slot, that leaves $1,616,345 for McAvene, Hearns, and Hendrie when the 5% overage is included. Something like $550K for McAvene, $1 million for Hearns, and $60K for Hendrie feels right. I don't think Hearns is getting $1 mil... I'm thinking $750K or a little bit more than that....

Pretty cool. Austin Riley will graduate off the list pretty soon. Br...

Re: 2019 Actual MLB Draft Day(s) Thread

The Top 3 are always FL, TX and CA in producing baseball talent. That Illinois is sixth and only 7 picks behind Georgia is really impressive. It was a good draft year for Illinois.

Re: Minor League Musings

BA's Cubs midseason player of the year: Chicago (NL): RHP Tyson Miller Double-A Tennessee The Cubs’ breakout pitcher of the year is also the system’s best. He recorded a 2.49 ERA with 64 strikeouts, 13 walks and three home runs allowed in 68.2 innings. I get a bit confused with the wording in these...

He makes so many plays look easy at SS.

Now we just need to get rid of the guy who keeps losing his damn bat whenever he swings.

Yeah, what the horsefeathers, Tom.

I don't know why you guys engage Tom...

I'm pretty sure he's not racist, but that was terrible wording. I'm just going to ignore him and his posts going forward. I didn't even read the original post with the weird "ape" usage lol.

I wish we had a prospect like this in our system. Another good two-way prospect.

Danny Hultzen to Iowa!! https://twitter.com/voiceofcohen/status/1140325417422770177?s=21 Awesome news. If he flourishes there might not be a need to trade for that elusive LHRP. At least not the ones that barely move the needle. We still need a good consistent LHRP. I wouldn't count on Hultzen just...

https://mobile.twitter.com/jimcallisMLB/status/1139993770848673792 Another local kid (or at least Northern Illinois) that I wonder if the Cubs were interested in. Great story. https://twitter.com/cubscentral08/status/1140080250740760578?s=21 I'm not a fan of the Cubs' efforts to identify/develop pitchers (and that's well-known here), but I will admit the pre-draft workouts where they invite top draft prospects and their parents to Wrigley Field and let them meet Theo &am...

Re: 2019 NBA Offseason

And AD to the Lakers. Ball, Ingram, Hart and 3 1sts I'm not a fan of Ingram and Ball sucks. Hart is just a good bench player/reserve. I don't believe they're getting a great player at #4 either (this draft isn't that talented outside of the top 2 players). I think when we look back on this trade it...
