Re: RE: Re: Minor League Discussion & Boxes, 7-16-18

Oh, ya gotta love Brailyn Marquez single-handedly saving the Cubs organization's pitching prospect list after losing Alzolay to injury, De La Cruz to suspension and Albertos to Steve Blass disease. 5 starts, 1 ER in each of them. Gotta love consistency. 21.2 IP, 13 H, 7 BB, 29 K, 2.08 ERA, 0.92 WHI...

Re: Minor League Discussion & Boxes, 7-15-18

Let's shift the discussion to Nico. This dudes a horsefeathering badass. I'm gonna go to the extreme but I can see some Mookie Betts in his game. Obviously has a great eye at the plate and does not whiff much.

Re: General Cubs Chit-Chat

I frankly think it's horsefeathering amazing that our offense is still atop the league even with so few dongs. We're like, playing an advanced game of smallball, putting together great ABs and 'manufacturing runs'. For our position players to still be producing OPS among teams with 50-60 more dongs ...

Re: Old Cubs Video Thread

I don't remember specifics like you guys but yeah 08 was just a ton of fun until the playoffs. I remember that stretch where we faced a bunch of aces and knocked em out in 5 or less innings. I also remember breaking my phone when Crawford of all people hit a granny against us and the Rays swept us.

Should we see if we can pry Giles from Houston? Their FO is not stupid and will point to the excellent peripherals but that relationship is strained at the very least. Could be affordable.

This is must-see TV. Bryant was such a disappointment. I expect each of these 2 to do very well.

It would be fabulous if Zagunis had a 1.100 OPS at AAA but it appears you looked at his MLB line.

Hoping this shines some light on Boots from The Coup. He's dropped so much good music over the years and mostly has not gotten the props he deserves.

According to this, it took Javy all of, what, 3 seasons to jump atop the leaderboard for the millenium so far. Unless Andrus did it again in the last couple seasons. Not sure how to find the current leaderboards.

Just watched the Tigers broadcast. They knew it was coming and showed the play from a few weeks ago against the Dodgers just before he did it again LOL

Nothing but incredulity at his fearlessness and slide.

Baseball parent rant with humble brag. I knew baseball parents were bad, but oh boy are they ever. I obviously watch baseball, and have played with my son with foam and plastic bats/balls. So, my son decided to play baseball this year for the first time. Never picked up a metal bat before I bought ...

I'd like to see what Cahill would cost. An achilles injury has held him out for a month but his arm is healthy. He pitches to the strength of the defense with tons of gb.

I just took the time to look at his performance ytd. Holy crap, that's got to be one of the stupidest decisions ever. The only thing I can think of is if he is struggling mentally right now. Yes, please, grab him if he is undervalued, Theo. Reports say his velocity is dipping and so is his confiden...

My question makes perfect sense and you know it. They made the best possible moves with the resources and information they had with the reasonably available guys at the time of need to not only make the playoffs and get a few wins from another WS last year to adding the best possible FAs this year....

Re: RE: Re: General Baseball Chit-Chat Thread

holy crap Juan Soto is good. he's had enough time that some sort of book on him should be forming, and yet he keeps producing. There's so many young, talent offensive guys in the minors, but honestly, i think it's Juan or Vlad Jr. at the top of the list when focusing just on offense, and that's inc...

The throw was great but all the stars aligned perfectly. I mean he got to the ball as quickly as he could, there was no wasted movement, and he fired a strike - but that was still a [expletive] of luck to get the out IMO, and that's not to say there was anything Kyle should have done differently, n...

I wouldn't say anybody has been freaking out about them, as in lamenting their loss; more of just keeping tabs on them. Soler is brutal in the field, we all know if he doesn't mash he's totally useless. Villanueva and Candelario never had a possible place on the Cubs roster but it doesn't help matte...

Re: Movie Thread 2: The Sequel

Hey, you guys that are into comics, An old roommate left some comics in my garage (and told me he didn't care what I did with them) and I took them to a comics store to see if he wanted to buy any. The only ones he picked out of hundreds of comics were a Deadpool set called Merc With A Mouth, where ...
