Re: Chicago Bears offseason

Not sure how I feel about this offseason so far. I LOVE the Patterson signing. I dislike the Skrine signing, though I've seen people talking him up and Pagano is to DBs what Fangio is to LBs. So, i'm cautiously optimistic here. Then again, he's the most penalized DB in the league since he started. 7...

Re: RE: Re: Chicago Bears offseason

Correct me if I’m wrong but it seems like the Bears return game as been god awful for the last few years. As we’ve seen in person last year, Patterson is not god awful as a returner. Obviously Nagy will use him as a great weapon on offense too. Very excited about this move Not only is he not God aw...

Re: Chicago Bears offseason

The Howard situation is interesting. At this point, I think a trade is going to happen at some point. It's going to be hard to comeback from putting your starting RB out there on the trade block and press conferences detailing what the Bears want in a RB. But the Bears are in the position where sign...

Re: RE: Re: RE: Re: Chicago Bears offseason

I really don't want them to draft a kicker though, and a priority FA at QB would be ideal. Is priority FA another way of saying UDFA? I'm unfamiliar with that lingo. Yeah. Priority guys though are the ones that typically have a lot of teams vying for their services and have multiple offers. Usually...

Re: RE: Re: Chicago Bears offseason

If i had to go out on a limb, I'd say the Bears draft: Safety, RB, OL, kicker, OLB. Those are some really healthy roster needs, four relatively easy and cheap positions to fill + basic OL depth wants and needs. I'd always suggest drafting more valuable/expensive positions like more CBs, more pass r...

Re: Chicago Bears offseason

I like the depth this Bears defense has right now. I think it's a priority to bring back Roy Robertson-Harris. Bilal Nichols will likely make Bullard expendable. We haven't seen what Kylie Fitts and Joel Iyiegbuniwe can be yet (due to injury) but both could be viable replacements for Aaron Lynch an...

Re: Chicago Bears offseason

The only concern I have with Callahan is he really hasn't stayed healthy. From a cap resource allocation standpoint, I'm definitely placing nickel back over S though. Replacing Callahan on the open market is a possibility in that regards. Bush looks ready to adequately start at S. One article I rea...

Re: Chicago Bears offseason

Curious about Tolliver. Was he a blue chip prospect out of HS? The bluest of chips. 10th overall recruit on ESPN 300. 27th on Rivals and #3 CB recruit. I LOVE taking chances late and UDFA on guys like this. Elite talent that you hope had poor coaching/motivation that you can get coming in hungry be...

Re: Chicago Bears offseason

Massie has been locked up through 2022. Rumors say 8Mil+ per year. Hopefully for the sake of cap space, it's structured like 6, 6, 10, 10, with 12 guaranteed. But assuming it's not, only room for only 1 of Callahan/Amos. All 11 starters on offense are back, whether you count Miller or Shaheen as th...

Re: RE: Re: Chicago Bears offseason

Aside from the obvious "we have a pro-bowl wr named JuJu", who would they not have grabbed the next year? My guess is that they wouldn't have signed Robinson, maybe, but I think its more likely they wouldn't have drafted Miller because they needed to trade for the pick. Probably wouldn't ...

Ah, I knew it was coming. Don't like it, but the Bears were due. And since they are a great attendance team, thankfully it's a road game for them so they still get 8 in Soldier Field. Also means Khalil Mack may never play a true road game against his former team, as the Bears aren't due to be the r...

Re: Chicago Bears offseason

I've been a "Parkey's probably back because they owe him too much money" guy. But today proved you can't bring Parkey back, man. Dude made a 57 yard FG (that would have been good from 70) to send his team to the Superbowl in sudden death on the road. You can't be a great team and have a qu...

Re: Chicago Bears offseason

As a head coach, I don't imagine he could focus on the defense as much as he was in charge of the entire team, and it was a team that just had the #1 pick and used it on a face of the franchise QB. So, I imagine a lot of Pagano's focus went toward Luck. His DC, Greg Manusky, was an experienced coord...

Re: Chicago Bears offseason

It's Pagano for DC. Looked the thought of Donatell, but was afraid he'd be too much like Vic, but not as good.

Pagano will likely be different but still good. HC experience is nice too with Nagy being relatively inexperienced.

Gase gets the Jets job. Rhule back to Baylor, presumably with a stop back to his old stomping grounds.
