The lower it goes, the better I feel about America.

Prepare yourself now for the likelihood that the race will tighten before November, especially if a SCOTUS judge retires.

Re: College football hindsight season

We’re also going to see a lot of mid-level programs fold when their “travel to OSU or Alabama and get paid $1 million to lose” business strategy collapses on itself This is the big impact. Your Central Michigans, Appalachian States and Troys of the world count on those games for like 1/3 of their t...

Re: Politics & Current Events

Looking at twitter this morning, I think a lot of people are going to be disappointed if we get access to Trump's tax returns. People are talking about how they'll prove he's not a billionaire, how much money he owes to foreign institutions, etc. Taxes are just income related. They don't show net w...

Re: Summer Camp 2020

Just video game your way through this season. I think that's the closest we're gonna get. Really don't see how we manage to have any sports in 2020. The NBA may be the only league to pull this off with the teams in a bubble in Orlando. Granted, they only have to finish the end of the 2020 season wi...

Re: Work Jerks

This was touched upon in the Covid thread, but maybe more appropriate here. First, a note that I am happy to still have my job and not be furloughed. I'd be terrified if my vacation pay and unemployment insurance was about to expire. That said... I work for an international hospitality company that ...

Looking at some designs for rebranding, I'm kind of digging the Washington Redtails. It honors the Tuskeegee Airmen of WWII and sounds much the same. They can even keep the R throwback helmet they've been wearing.

All roads point to Susan Rice or Kamala. Susan Rice plz. As stupid as we all know it is, I do worry that Rice will immediately set off another round of "Benghazi Gate" nonsense. If anything, Biden needs to separate himself from the Democratic establishment and all things Hillary. If not f...

do other seasonal respiratory viruses tend to tick up in the south when it gets oppressively hot and people are more reliant on being indoors/air conditioned? i'm just curious if this pattern is usually a thing that happens (only way worse with this thing) I almost never get a cold until the summer...

Does anyone here grow their own vegetables? I started small last year and this year I went a little bit bigger, with tomatoes, okra, bell peppers, and 10 different hot pepper plants. Late June in Oklahoma is when the horsefeathers really starts popping and I'm basically buried in tomatoes right now...

I don't know if I see her as eventual Pres material, if 2024 is a consideration for the pick. Well that's the thing, right? Biden isn't running in 2024 most likely and he's nearly 80, so we need a candidate who is at least perceived to be ready to step into the job on day one. All roads point to Su...

I’m sure I’m missing something, but what exactly is the logic in closing beaches this weekend or any other weekend for that matter? Isn’t that actually counterproductive as it’s probably going to chase people indoors to bars or gathering at people’s houses?

The average voter on either side is still mostly reached by TV. So far TLP is taking the path trod trod by Russian hackers and the like; for all of the hooplah over social media shenanigans in trying to sway elections, it's an outlet that is still dwarfed by TV. And the only thing stopping TLP from...

The next big social hurdle is what happens when people go back to school. Most plans for K-12 and college are lousy, and there is an astounding lack of imagination happening at any level. I know of Tulane and several other universities that have been grinding out an online only curriculum back up p...
